On my simulator on Haas VMC when I enter the offset menu and press part zero set button it doesn't record the machine values. I don't understand why?

In my Swansoft Simulator in Haas VMC the PART ZERO SET button doesn't work. I don't know why.

You have to move cursor to the X, Y or Z input fields before clicking the PART ZERO SET button

Some people say that you should only set X and Y coordinates in Work Offset Table. And the Z in tool length offset table.
I don't understand why?
