    Zeddic, don't ever change! You're a wonderful Saturday morning treat with the way you build and present your videos. I've never minded non-optimal or honest goofs, but I've had to give up on other channels where the goof seems to be the schtick. Watching you is just chill and relaxing.

    Having a few 1x1 Water storages set to 'obtain' spread across the map; especially near work areas, is great early on as it means your beavers don't travel far for a drink, which is often a culprit for low productivity.

    I like the interesting way you build up your colony. It’s a bit more elegant and aesthetic than some other timberborn players. It’s nice to watch! I also appreciate these longer videos!

    As usual, amazing creativity. Pressurised badwater pipes, multi-level rivers and dams & Lord of the Rings statues!

    Hello
    Put some water tank and small storage for food along the way or near work area like gas station for beaver to eat and keep them full by haulers ,so beavers dont slow down.
    Now All of your water and food are in center.
    Build more pump on other lakes. They are now useless or unlock bigger pump

    4:06 You can make underground storage, it just requires 10 dynamite and a ladder. Unfortunately it doesn't make it any bigger. 🙂
    8:30 As you have access to extract, why not use the advanced breeding pods?
    25:02 I think an issue with completely sealing off a regular water source (during a bad tide) is that once the bad tide is over it can't "unlock" because there's still badwater present. Allowing the badwater to flow out (like you've built) so that the good water can replace it, means that the sluices can open to allow the good water out.
    25:50 I love this extra inlet for badwater.
    30:35 Why levees for the left hand two columns? You could have used dirt instead.
    47:15 The sluice needs to be Auto, not Open, otherwise the "Close above downstream depth" won't work. (You probably already did this off camera).

    Suggestion: if you want to *automatically* fill the lake at the end of the aqueduct last, move your three dam pieces (the overflow from your primary water storage) to directly over the aqueduct. Then set the *final* set of floodgates in the aqueduct to a height a little higher than what you set for the sluices that enter the aqueduct.
    During a wet season, the lake won't get any water until after the primary storage, pumping storage, new pumping storage, and the irrigation portion of the aqueduct are all full. At that point, the water will overtop the primary storage and enter the aqueduct and flow out to the lake.
    You could then add an overflow for the lake dam, if you want, just in case it ever needs a final overflow.

    Just so you are aware you can't just cap off a water source for a bad tied. Without flow the contamination becomes permanent so good water sluice never open again.

    What a smart and elegant solution and impressive use of the new 3d water physics! The underground pipe had me worried considering all the poop intake, but it's great to see it holding up! Wish I had the creativity and foresight to make aesthetic and functional builds ^^ Well, consider me inspired!

    My advise... Top off the other water sources, with bad water outputs.. and build that into another water tank.. BUT.. I'd make sure to slap in a 1 way gate with a 1 tile tunnel from both the other water sources, to feed into the primary water storage once they're topped off.. Then that tank can feed into the water pumping tank area much longer ;)

    Hello,
    First good episode. On the district stuff. You really don't need to have more than one. What your issue is, is you are scattered everywhere. You should move everything to one area. So make an industrial area and have everything they need either under them or across from them. Then have haulers move everything.
    I am not saying to copy Skye but go look at Skyes newest videos. See how he makes factory areas and then puts storage right next to them. If he has a project like a dam he puts dirt pipes right next to them. Your issue is you just haven't made things efficient yet. Spend some time planning where you want things and move everything to that area. Don't be shy to rip things out and redo them.
    Good episode I like your format. Keep it up. Just a hit if you want this to become a career start making jokes. You know the kind I am talking about. Kids don't understand them but adults do. Watch Skye or RCE you will get the idea. I mean come on a goal in the game is to keep your beavers wet. The game writes the material for you.

      This was a huge tip I learnt from Skye, add storage next to large build projects and fill them up by haulers. It makes things run so much quicker

      Yes on the storage, but no on the jokes. The recent vids of skye have been so full of innuendo I can’t even watch them anymore. I love the practical approach!!!,

    7:00 should put dams on top, that way when bad water does come and the first set closes for that big lake you created the water can still flow until the sluices that lead off the map can open up and drain

    If you're expanding the colony outwords, I have a couple of suggestions. First, I believe districts are best used with bots only since you don't have to worry about food and water.
    Also, I would suggest having small food and water storage by far out buildings so beavers don't have to travel far if they are hungry or thirsty.

  • @jarishnafidz475

    You could redirect other water sources to your main water source to re fill existing water storage faster

    hey zeddic, I'm loving the longer episodes at the moment! Your gameplay style is much more relaxed than others and I'm all for it. A slightly odd question, what are you pc specs like? I'm just curious!

    • @ZeddTheBuilder
      @ZeddTheBuilder  3 місяці тому +1

      Glad you like the videos! My PC specs are:
      - CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 - 3.9Ghz
      - Memory: 48GB DDR4
      - GPU: GeForce RTX 3070
      - OS Drive: 1TB SSD
      I think this is overkill for this game, but I can still notice some pathing lag once I get up to ~300 beavers. I run the game at 1080x1920 during recording sessions and capture with OBS.

  • @jasonjazzz5
    @jasonjazzz5 3 місяці тому

    31:50 will help some, but there's just too much for a 1 wide pipe to handle. 3 wide might work if you fold that water hard enough lol

  • @DJarr216
    @DJarr216 3 місяці тому

    Kinda lucky the 1x1 pipe worked. I would have probably made it 3x1 to make sure the pipe could handle all the water, especially when adding the badtide badwater from the river to it.
    A few episodes ago you placed a few levees (shown at 20:37 )to block badwater. Maybe replace those levees with sluices and use the 1 way property of sluices to divert badwater during badtides from the source nearby and keep the river green.

  • @T.j1921

    put another sluice above the pipe to help fill the lake

  • @jasonjazzz5
    @jasonjazzz5 3 місяці тому

    30:00 you really should stop the lake water from being able to get into that 1 wide channel above the pipe, it will evaporate the water a lot faster having access to that many 1 wide tiles to occupy

    Hi
    Build water wheel and wing mill and some deep gravity battery(notthing crazy like last season)
    Please Roughly estimate power useage and then build battery.
    You can fill with dirt on top of your pipe so you wont loose trees and make it hidden

    • @ZeddTheBuilder
      @ZeddTheBuilder  3 місяці тому +1

      Hi! I've been holding off on the water wheels for a bit since the wet seasons are so short and the dry seasons so long on hard mode. I do plan on introducing some soon though - with the bad water discharge I plan on keeping the bad water source open all season for a reliable source of water flow.

  • @adamt195
    @adamt195 3 місяці тому

    I guess you're going with all slucies, and that can work if you set it all up right, but if your priority is the main water pumping tank, then I would set up the aquaduct to be filled via your overflow Dam pieces, and then have some dam pieces at the top of the diagonal dam.
    also since you're short on metal blocks, I think I would have done levees instead of impermeable floors for the pipe roof. But also I'm a folktail only player. Ironteeth using metal more makes sense.

    26:00 you're going to introduce a lot of backup if you try adding the main flow of badtide to that 1 wide pipe. with the couple little source blocks you start by would work, all that extra water will not fit through that pipe
