I love some boi online man I got in contact with the guy on the wiki about those restored wallace and gromit short films and got myself the copies he's a proper lad
I am at 98% certain a clip was aired on Blue Peter. As I recall (from 25 years ago) it plays out as follows: "Wallace demonstrates his latest invention to Wendolene by trying it out on Gromit (some sort of hypnosis related machine I think related to a certain song, as you call out in the video). It works on Gromit, and then the song changes to something else (which according to Wallace "Gromit wouldn't like", but Wendolene says "oh but I do"), but then unbeknownst to Wallace (at least) Feathers McGraw (hiding up stage) hijacks the machine and makes Gromit dance to an old-timey Radio song about an Armchair(??? - which is why I remember it so vividly), which then escalated into Shaun also become hypnotised and dancing to the same song." I may be remembering the details wrong but maybe it will trigger a memory to help track down the clip. Good luck!
It can't be stressed how ephemeral these kinds of stage shows are in general and how fascinating and mysterious it makes them. Best case scenario, someone somehow smuggled in a giant camcorder into one of these things, and maybe you'll see some grainy Sesame Street Live or Disney on Ice footage. Maybe the production company had footage for them to splice into advertisements. But for the most part, these things are GONE! Sesame Street live only recently (the past 15-20 years) started selling soundtrack CD's. Everything else, Chipmunks live, Thundercats Live, etc only survive as tantalizing advertisements someone thankfully had on an old VHS.
First off, I swear to God, I remember this live show, 'cause my parents took me and my sister to see it at the Grand Theatre in Leeds, and my dad got to wear these lord mayoral chains which Feathers McGraw took them away and Gromit retrieved them in the end. I'm not even taking the Mick! That's how I remember it!
I saw it in Woking! My memory is a bit vague about it being nearly 30 years ago, but I remember that big red thing whatever it was called, and I recall a chase scene involving Gromit and Feathers on top of a train carriage.
This has unlocked a memory: My godmother took me to see the 2001 edition of Thunderbirds FAB for my 8th birthday as I was (and still am) a big Thunderbirds fan. She bought me a program and I remember being very confused when I saw a picture of Wallace and Gromit in the program - what did they have to do with Thunderbirds?! My godmother explained that this was a play made by the same producer. Practically forgot all about it until seeing your video.
Nice video. You should do a video about Feeling Good, a TV series produced by the Children's Television Workshop (CTW, now Sesame Workshop) that aired on PBS from 1974 to 1975. It was the first TV series produced by the CTW that was aimed at adults, instead of children. No footage of the show have surfaced online and only a few images exist
my family had the pamphlet for this live show in our first house, and I used to be so scared and confused by that photo of gold wallace and gromit and their eyes and strange gold wires behind their heads
Anyone out to recreate this stage show with their own recreations of the models used in the production of the featurettes Nick Park bade in 1989-1995? Also, it seems the next subject is gonna be the Lenny Henry sketch based on Wallace And Gromit. You can see Lenny's version of Wallace at the end as a teaser.
Do you plan on touching lost/cancelled superhero movies like for example the good CROW sequels that were never made or the original version 1997 Spawn before it was turned into what we have right now even after it got its director's cut?
Seeing some boi online doing an collaboration makes me happy.

Aye! Let’s go! My favourite boi! 🤭 Now this is a surprise and nicely done 😁
I love how Lady Wensleydale is depicted as just a literal cheese headed woman
I remember having the Wallace and Gromit book which explained about the stage show
It also included concept art from the original three episodes

I remember when this search was just starting out. Class
This was a fun collaboration episode, and I very much enjoyed what your guests brought to the table.
Thanks for this amazing piece of Wallace and Gromit history as I never heard of them in a play until now. Keep up the great work on future videos.

@@VHSandStoryUploader89Lives I'm so glad I'm not the only one who still vaguely remembers it.
How long was the show itself?

Love that people are still looking for this! I do a search for it every 6 months or so
I remember going to see this stage show once with my family.
the stage show version of Wendolyn makes her look like a British version of Lois Griffin
This was fun! Hope to collaborate again soon!
Great video! You should consider covering more lost stage productions!
Amazing video 👍🏻
Wow i would have never guessed someone tried to make a stage play out of the Wallace and Gromit characters 😯 This was a fascinating deep dive 😊
All we need is the footage
I hope that someone has a recording of the show somewhere, waiting to be rediscovered by many people.
Sounds like a crazy show. Interestingly, Wallace would also mistakenly believe Gromit hurt the woman he loved in A Matter of Loaf and Death.
We already getting a new wallace and gromit movie on Netflix
my family had the pamphlet for this live show in our first house, and I used to be so scared and confused by that photo of gold wallace and gromit and their eyes and strange gold wires behind their heads
I wanna see that show 😊
Have You Ever Notice That The Actor Who Played Wallace In The Stage Show Has Portrayed Big Bad In The 2000's Brum Series
I remember wendoline being on a show like this morning getting a makeover lol
I remember hearing about this play from GMTV.

Good video. 🙂
