A regal Queen indeed, as she connects Bombay and Poona. My Father used to try and race the Deccan Queen as a teanager growing up in Poona in the 1930's . Of course he lost hands down, but he had fun :). Travelling ,especially by first class, on this train, is an exercise in beauty and luxury. It is a true privilege to have this experience.
Wah Re Wah. What a great video; many thanks. One of my relatives used to work in the building behind Pune station, shown at the start of the video, and, there used to be a music store on one of its floors where I was able to purchase music CDs of my favorite singers from the 50s and 60s - Mukesh, Mahendra Kapoor, and, of course, Lataji and Rafiji. Brings back childhood memories of growing up in Pune in the 60s. In those days, trains heading to Mumbai used to have an engine added in the front, to assist in braking them as they headed downhill, and, trains heading to Pune had an engine added in the rear, to assist in pushing them uphill. WOW - those were the golden days !!!
Can someone tell me? If The bankers were attached at Lonavala, then when were it removed? Usually it gets detached at Karjat, byt Deccan Queen doesn't halt there, so..!??
Thanks for capturing the sights and sounds of this wonderful journey.. well edited too.. Nature's beauty at its best.. clean, green, misty with the occasional wildlife too 😁.. only thing I missed when I was watching this is the soft sprinkle of the rain on me and the awesome smell of the green mountains in the rain (am sure someone else experienced it too).. thanks again
Thank you for sharing with us your love of the beauty of the Bhor Ghat during the Monsoon as the Deccan Queen makes her stately descent to the plains below. Also, thank you SO much for not adding ghastly, so-called background "music', but letting us enjoy, along with you, the gentle ,soothing sound of the wheels moving over the joints in the tracks, creating a rhythm all their own - a sound unique to train travel in India !
amazing video! one question though. Whats the point of booking AC chair car if you are going to stand at the door throughout the journey and that too in this weather? :D :D
Awesome video. Just one correction at 24:46 - DQ is running on the fast line that you mentioned (PF - 6). The one that you showed (PF - 7) was of people waiting on slow harbour line for train towards panvel.
