    I have a question. Do heavy squats make your waist thicker? Also deadlifts. I’ve been squatting pretty heavy and I feel my waist is wider. Thank you. As always excellent video. Oh I forgot. I’m almost 68 years old. I wonder if it has anything to do with it

    • @kennethsteelhammer

      You have a point. Especially if you train beltless your waistline will get a little thicker from doing squats and deadlifts.

      Hi! That’s awesome!! High jump was my best event, but I did the heptathlon and pentathlon. The Oly lifts, big compound lifts, and plyos helped me so much with explosiveness - and they still help with keeping fast twitch muscles.
      I wish you and your team all the best this upcoming season! Go get ‘em!!!

    • @bigviking0001
      @bigviking0001 11 місяців тому

      Thanks for the reply. I kinda guessed you were a jumper by the way you did the burpees. Arms low and back to emphasize the triple extension of the ankles, legs and hips. We do weights in the morning, technique in the late afternoon and then end with a few sets of what I call "Butt Busters". This is sprint up 22 steps of bleachers and sprint down, 10 Push-ups, stairs, 10 crunches, stairs and then 10 burpees. I try to get in 5 sets in to make it a good glycolytic session to enhance recovery on non-weight room days. Thanks for all you do, I have learned so much and really used your Barbel complex video. Best of luck!!!!

    • @running4fun863

    • @darnitthelma4247
      @darnitthelma4247 8 місяців тому

      You may not need HRT? It has side effects too so my advise (I’m almost 43) is to keep yourself as healthy as poss mentally& physically and build muscle.
      Menopause was not such a huge deal not long ago. I do think most women blame their lifestyle or menopause when in fact small tweaks could lift their mood, help lost extra weight, hydrate skin et etc

    • @ErinSternFIT
      @ErinSternFIT  11 місяців тому +1

      I think that’s too much. I recommend doing your weight training and then adding finishers. Instead of cardio most days, work on getting steps in. Hope that helps!
