Always shocked to see the amount of work going into some of the smaller details. Finally got to take Sawyer on a hike a couple of weeks ago, was lovely to use. Haven't even had to hit it with the strop after a good bit of use. Even more impressed! Cheers, Bob.

Hi Loz, if I understand correctly you are using the mesh as a stencil? So, how do you hold the acetate sheet firmly to the mesh, just resting on it? and last question, the color green is the color of this emulsion? thanks for the tip!

Hi the acetate is used as a resist initially to stop the uv light hitting the mesh and film underneath it, the film cures around the image with uv light so under the acetate stencil is not cured and can then be washed off in water. basically that image section is just mesh now and can be etched through. hope that makes sense. no the emulsion is a blueish colour and dry's green.

Hi Loz. This is genius but I have one question. What kind of printer do you print on the acetate?

Hi I use a laser printer, not 100% sure but i think inkjet would do as good a job, you can get acetate film for both. Cheers.

Thanks for the info. Question : The finer the mesh the more detailed the stencil......or is the detail depending on how good the laser print was on the acetate ??? I can find screen up to 140 mesh.

    • @LozHarrop

Yes to both 140 mesh is plenty I think very high mesh might be difficult to wash out on logos, I counted the mesh on the etch o matic stencils at around 100, with smaller detail on the acetate get the image as good as you can or it may show a pixelated outline. TIFF for instance will give better results than JPEG. cheers.
