Cornering speed and deceleration are alien. Loving the V4 turbo sound. The FIA should get Monza "no chicanes " on the WEC calendar.
Unfortunately, safety concerns require Monza to keep the chicanes, lest more lives becomes lost.
if normal hybrid cars sound like this perhaps more people will drive them :P

usually road hybrids use the petrol engine only to produce electricity for the battery, and only actually run on the electric motors

@@LannnR LMP1 are designed to last more than 24 hours. Ehm, at Spa 919 EVO was faster than Formula 1. 2018 F1 have proven to be only 0.2s faster than 919 EVO (by far heavier). Last generation LMP1 are the real monsters!

Tehleetking all racing is comparable, in terms of excitement and action when on similar levels of motorsports. Multiclass Prototype/GT racing is ridiculously under appreciated here in the United States. 25k people show up for the Lonestar LeMans, yet 90k or more will go to the F1 race at the same track. F1 isn't the racing that it used to be, LeMans racing is where it's at now.
+Break the Chain calm down ma'am. nobody is F1 bashing, just pointing out that there is far more action in sportscar racing. Not everyone likes to watch follow the leader.

they are also faster than F1 cars on straight tracks, but they are significantly slower in corners due to being much heavier

Please BRING this engine into the new F1 regulation in 2025! It will be an incredible rejuvenation for the category. The exhaust sound is simply sensational.
I honestly keep forgetting this has a V4. People would complain about losing cylinders, but if it'd sound anything like this, it's a gigantic win.

There is probably a thing for the sportscar of the future there. A 2.4 V4 with a double turbo on it and an hybrid system would be a beast on the streets.

+Andrew Vanderlei Probably you're right, but remember that prior to the chicanes introdution, races at Monza were the slipstream madness, expecially in Formula 1 races.

+Jeff V They have more downforce overall than F1 cars apparently, just heavier so worse on the brakes, which is where they lose most of the time
+Kris Entwistle on average an LMP1 car makes 2500KG of downforce where as a F1 cars makes in the region of 1300KG.

I understood that and F1 car produces roughly 3 times it's own weight in downforce. I don't know if your numbers are right but the fact that the entire LMP1 body is a giant wing makes me think you're right about it being a higher downforce car. I do know that they are 1-2 seconds a lap slower than an F1 car on the same track. Absolutely amazing vehicles.

Why is it stupid?
Because you get to see the cars reach their top speeds and it doesn't ruin or stop the flow of a lap/race.

+Mr. Krabs Chicanes make races more dangerous, not less. Especially in endurance racing. And I agree, a person's life is very important. Hence why they should remove the chicane.

I love all the positive feed back from WEC fans about the hybrid motors and how good they sound. I barely see anyone arguing over the cars as well. I am an F1 fan and my god them fans rip each other apart over every single driver. Not much class and respect from F1 fans if you disagree with their favorite driver. Not to mention I hear non stop how much they hate the new engines. It's night and day between WEC fans and F1 fans. Why is that?
Just watched this again, for fun comparison, after another beautiful Bozzy vid of a Track Day at Monza - all kinds of vintage and recent racing and semi-racing cars, some really blasting around the course with gusto.
Now it’s clear to me: those are cars - really nice ones, from Earth. This here is alien weaponry.

+philippe sandrat Thanks! But those places aren't new at all for me. I can go there only during these particular test sessions (where there's only 1-2 cars driving around the track for 2 or plus days) because I can record the car perfectly from the usaul places and I like to add some different scenes in the final video from those new places. During normal races/trackdays/tests is enough if I can get some decent videos from the usual places ;)

We need more manufacturers to become interested in LMP1! To me, F1 is dead, and this could become the premier motorsport if companies like Ferrari or Ford or Aston Martin return to the LMP classes.

+Keegan Ferrari won't make a LMP1 car yet, because they're not interested in small turbo engines with hybrid systems. Maybe in future Ferrari will join the LMP, but right now BMW, who have the i8 and Honda with this new NSX, they have hybrid-turbo-petrol technology already and they would, be in my opinion, more suitable for LMP1.
Ferrari also can't run a f1 team and a lmp1 apparently

+Tupac Amaru Shakur Unofficial Channel I'm still using just one camera! :P If you're talking about the transition from one scene to another (like the one at 0:56 or at 1:34 etc) the "secret" is really simple: I recorded the car during two different and consecutive laps and then match the two videos like they had been taken during the same lap ;)
The trick works quite well thanks to the drivers that always have a perfect pace on every lap
Sooner or later, somebody is going to hire you for your pro level work.

I would really like to see either the 919 or R18 race a 2015 F1 car on a track like this, and see how well these LeMans cars really drive :)
Although the LMP1 cars are really quick, they would still be beaten by a top F1 car (Mercedes,Ferrari) LMP1 cars could have a chance against the McLaren-Hondas or the Manors

That thing has brutal acceleration coming out of the pits, looks like all 4 tires are spinning, even with pretty sticky tires.

Ever since I discovered the Le Mans, my dream would be a road driveable 2 seater that I could build myself. I am aware of the RXC radical but cant afford 100 000 pounds. How much of you here would love to drive something as a daily - assuming comfty enough suspension, good speed, great experience, no annoying ABS and traction control gizmos ? A proper driver's car ?
