Wasn't it moreso b/c new players at the time didn't actually have enough units/copies of units (maybe only 1/5 SS Red, 1/5 SS Leaf, and maybe 2/5 SS Blue since his banner was longer)? Pretty sure the most common Redzard team at the time was Hilbert+Blaine for those who had him 3/5 (and any move level of Hilbert; it was before his Grid expansion, after all). Blastoise and Venusaur did work very well together on Toxic stall teams, though, regardless of move level. That Toxic stall duo got even better when Psyduck came in.
Which one? Both are true, but Moltres yeah can do crazy damage. If talking Leaf yeah she was surpassed a while ago but also yes her value is in her versatility, debuffing toxic leaves, healing, sync boost, decent as a 2nd support taking hits like a wall should your 1st support get knocked out, still a very valuable unit.
@@IgnatiusBlaze4 Yeah. Leaf is basicly current Sakura Haruno in team 7. Very powerful but nothing compared to God-tier like Naruto and Sasuke which Blue and Red.
Ironically I stopped using SS Red after getting SS Hilda, SS May AND Pikachu Red but yea he’s still great unit even if the new grind didn’t give him much, Leaf is my used tech for grass with Rosa and blue is obviously top support for physical stages or with slow DPS.
Synergy aside, I still use Sygna Suit Leaf for Master Mode. Although, I don’t use her to stall. I go all out offensive with her 5/5 grid 😈 When Leaf & Venusaur get an EX Role, so many would fit!! I'd definitely prefer her to be a support, especially since I use her with the boys still, then I wouldn't need to sync with Blastoise 1st every time, save him for 2nd or 3rd so that he still gets his stat boosts, and gives the team endure, but then Charizard could go 2nd too. That being said yeah sprint is very valuable a close 2nd, that would be really good with her. I also still use her frequently in Master Mode, she's still a very powerful asset, but I do use her as a staller mostly. at 5/5, debuffing all offenses and defenses, gave her lucky skill to boost her speed with fast track 2, speeding up sync with TM refresh, her potion upgrades, she's the ultimate 2nd support. That being said... yeah you ran with Celebi using it as a debuffer if it's 3/5, with grassy terrain I do imagine her being super powerful.
when running this team, you have to focus on getting red build special move nxt to 10 which is 400%, then synch with him and one Bmove its over, how ever by using leer focus build on moltress and zapdos do his thing
Since MFs have half the pull rate of other featured units, for f2p players I'd say it's typically better to candy them and try pulling dupes on poké fairs instead. That said, if you're missing a bunch of pairs from the general pool then the 12% rate on MF banners can be nice.

I do think though Leaf does have the least staying power, the most likely of the 3 to get replaced and sooner in the future, vs the boys. Red a lot less competition for ice, Blue while has a lot of electric competition, being an all around good support gives him staying power which is why Blastoise also had staying power of the SS Kanto Trio. As sad as it is to say, and especially with not being capable of attacking without a rebuff, Leaf's value is going to dip and dip hard by the next fire legendary, of which there is a bunch, off the top of my head I can think of 3 guarantees, Hilbert Reshiram/White Kyurem, Maxie with a Primal Groudon upgrade, and Buck Heatran. Not to mention another Moltres, a shiny Moltres, or shinies of these mentioned legendaries on top of the many others I didn't mention, as well as UBs and Paradox Pokemon that are as strong as legendaries.
My personal review, breakdown, and how well I think into the future they will hold up, SS Kanto Trio still good, but Neo Kanto Trio definitely solid too. I've never stopped using them, they might not be OP but they still get the job done. I'd say of the 3 sadly Red holds up the least because his whole thing is attacking. At the very least he was replaced within the last yer by the likes of May Blaziken, Hilda Victini, granted they are physical, so he still is best fire special? Arguably? His grid expansions upset basically everyone because they did nothing, weakest of the 3. Personally think impervious was the bare minimum, costs as much as stats quo 4, make it easier to get to, boom bam done, then he doesn't lose any stats. Obviously other things would be nice too such as brain teaser, and closer to the center than haymaker which isn't getting used because it's so far away, so even if his physical is maxed out along with his special... not getting used. This being said I think new Red will survive MUCH longer, for the sole fact that there are very few ice types to compete with. It's ridiculously powerful, per Red usual lol, but yeah, looking at powerful ice types what do we have to look forward to? Red Lapras? shiny Kyurem? White Kyurem? Shiny Black or White Kyurem? shiny Articuno, shiny Regice or Regice Brandon, there atre very few legendaries that are ice type compared to water, fire, dragon, and psychic, even electric quite a few. Even if we factored powerful Pokemon that aren't legendaries, psuedos like Baxcalibur, I don't think there are any UBs that are ice, not off top of my head at least, and... paradox Pokemon also not off the top of my head. Red Articuno will last a very long time. Leaf I'd say is 2nd, still holds up, way more and better than Red, even with powerful grass types, Leaf is so versatile with her kit, and while her 5/5 grid expansion also was bare, that attack and spc attack down on poisoned units can come in handy as much as I dissed it upon her grid expansion release. Debuff, toxic love to all opponents, sync countdown, lots of heals with auto from TM and potions, she's super good still. Red Moltres on the other hand... yes is super powerful I'd even wager strongest fire type currently... but will more than likely be outclassed for same reasons as Red. A TON of fire type legendaries, hell immediately off top of my head, Hilbert has Reshiram in Masters, we know this, that is who they chose for Unova's protagonist, and N had Zekrom when he to to Pasio. I'd also wager we could be looking at a similar team comp for the Johto Neo Champions, using the beast trio rather than birds (well aside from Suicune as we already got Kris with one, the Eusine with shiny, so shiny Entei and Raikou for 2 of them, not sure on the 3rd (personally hoping Silver's egg is a shiny Dragonite, be poetic, he becomes Neo Champion with it beating Lance finally after all this time, while Ethan has shiny Raikou, and Kris has shiny Entei... or I GUESS Lyra lol, I just prefer Kris and Lyra has too many alts)). That's what fire types are competing with, even the prexisting Groudon could become a crazy powerful fire type, that's just the tip of the iceberg not even mentioning megas, like mega charizard Y or another Blaziken. Fire, Dragon, Water, and psychic will always be competing for top spot and replacing past powerhouses of these types it's ineviteable, so while crazy good... Only way he could be better is if he healed, ver universal defensive tank and/or wall unit. Blue Zapdos... go the same way as Leaf, but being a support, and fewer electric types comparatively to fire, dragon, etc to compete with, yeah think he'll last a while. 2nd, he'll last longer than Leaf, but longer than Red ehhh... depends on how valuable as a supporter he is, he could last longer than Red just because supporters, especially dealing damage being a tank rather than a wall, or might not because more electric competition. Really depends on how the game goes moving forward, what units they want to do what with.
The difference between Red and Hilda is so minimal it's hard to tell she's "better" even though she nominally is. Mostly because content has not caught up to units we have, so even if units are "inferior" at the end of the day its using a wreckingball instead of a normal hammer to break glass.
