- This railway film shows the return of steam on the two rival Roads To The Isles, brilliantly documented by producer Nick Lera. The remote Kyle of Localsh line saw steams return in 1982, while two years later it was the turn of the West Highland line’s famous route from Fort William to Mallaig, which of course includes the great curved viaduct at Glenfinnan.
I did the inverness to kyle of localsh in 1986. I was twelve years old and its beauty blew me away
Something I would have liked to participate in.
Very good!
Brings me back to whenever i would watch Thomas the tank engine as a kid
That's when British rail was it it's best.
Nick Lera - fantastic!
