Amazon’s TOP 5 Best Selling Pencil Cases (IN-DEPTH Review)

- I recently discovered a useful Amazon shopping feature-the “Best Seller” button! It’s not obvious, so that’s probably why I had never seen it before, but it’s really helpful. I was researching pencil cases, clicked on “Best Seller” and was shown Amazon’s top selling pencil and pen cases. So I purchased the Top 5 cases and decided to do an in-depth review of them to see if they’re really worth the money and Best Seller Amazon label.

I have had the mint pencil case since around 2018. I travel for work and carry a backpack and don't want to be weighed down. The case has held up well and I typically carry the following: one 6 inch metal ruler, six micron pens, multipens, Sarasa Vintage 10 pen set, Uniball Signo Vintage pen set of five, three Pilot G2 pens, four Pilot Precise V5 pens, One white Jelly Roll pen, one Derwent Academic pencil, one lead holder pencil for thicker lines, one jumbo chapstick, two washi tapes, one small post it pad 2x3, one cutter bee scissors. In the side pockets: one Pentel polymer eraser the white one, flash drives, single use hand sanitizer wipes like you get at BBQ restaurants lol. In the side zip pocket are two Raphael travel brushes.
To resolve the issue of things falling out fr the size zip I lay it on it's side when I need my watercolor brushes. I would recommend this bag for light travel and at home use. I keep this pouch at my desk at home and always reach for it.
If I was in the market for a bigger pouch I would go for the big white one. And I just might for taking around the house when I don't want to be tied to my office/craft room.
Great video as always, and thanks for sharing your opinions 👍
Your reviews are so thorough - very much appreciated. You think of everything! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the video. Pencil cases are always so handy. Not just for pens but a multitude of uses. I keep my inhalers inside a pencil case, I keep my dogs medication inside a pencil case, I keep my cycle lights inside a pencil case and many other things. They are just super handy and I can’t see why anyone I don’t want a pencil case as a present even if they are not into pens. I even keep the zip bag packaging that those pencil cases come in. And I sometimes put small cleaning accessories in them to keep them dry and I will use them in my cycle rucksack to keep something separate or put little things that are rolling around in my glove box in one. I even have one to stole my locking wheel nut key from my car in because it just keeps the dirt contained.
I love the spotty one , you were good at demonstrating each bag with the pros and cons. , you did a good job Jennifer thank you for sharing.
I’m so glad you mentioned the Velcro issue. Not sure I would have though about until I was in a situation and wishing it was a snap!! Thanks!!
I'd choose the same bags you did Jennifer. The front pockets on a few of the bags are great for students to put in their ID's, some cash, etc. Also, some of the spaces could be used for feminine hygiene products as well since at least 50% of their target market is women. ☺
Thank you for this extensive review! Greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your review! I find that I like your choice for #1 pencil case. I have a different one & choose it to hold my various small pencil sharpeners. It also has two side zipper sides, one to hold pens/pencils and other to hold smaller things.
I went straight away and got your #1 bag in a pink color! Thanks for making this video!!!
Thanks for such a comprehensive review! Well done!
I like the #1 pencil bag. Great video and helpful.
Fun video to watch! I have a pencil case I love too. It’s a CICIMELON big capacity. I love it! It fits a lot of stuff! I went and checked out the price and it has dropped from $13.99 to $8.99 plus on the teal colored one they had a box I could check to get an additional $2 off. I ordered it for $6.99! 👏👏👏👏👏 I like a case that I can carry travel brushes, Pitt pens and micron pens, kneaded eraser, travel brushes, scissors, rulers, fountain pens, gel pens, colored pencils, sharpeners etc. etc. etc. This one works very well! I could also add a couple of my tiny watercolor palettes!
Thank you for the great video! Looks like a great time to buy a pencil case!
Very fun review! I love pencil bags. I get Vera when on clearance.
Most of my favorite pencil pouches are from old makeup pouches from Clinique, Estee Lauder, etc. I still have a lot of them from many years ago that I got at a discount outlet and they hold up incredibly well with years of use. Most of the pouches came with the holiday and other makeup kit offers from these companies and a lot of people didn't use them but passed them on.
What you really need is a suitcase. Seriously though thanks for doing the research. I’m beginning to wonder what’s the difference between a make up bag and a pencil case?
Your first and second choices were mine as well. This was an interesting video, Thank you for the information.
I have the large capacity one in my cart, I’m ordering it for school. I’m sooo excited 😁😁
Thanks so much :) I have a huge wishlist (not all for purchase, but for narrowing down to purchase) at the moment on my Amazon account and you've made it so much easier to move a few around, and bump off a couple from it. Some of the photos on their ads have become .... interesting now that I've seen the bags actually in use. This video couldn't have come at a better time for me as I'm setting up my 2022 work station, so thank you :) Take care :D
I was amazed at how many pencils/pens actually go into those little cases! I do like looped cases because it makes it easier to access my colors, and i can arrange them how I like by color. But I would love something like this if we ever go on vacation again. I can take an entire set of pencils with me! (The "FSS Syndrome" is strong in this one)
I absolutely love stationery. I am still collecting the tombow dual brush pens . I love them so much
Good reviews, well done Jen;
Your favorite is like Mary Poppins pen bag!
Love this video!
Love the Pencil Cases
This is a good idea. But, what about larger cases?
Hi Jen and Steve and all
I have several Angoo brand pencil cases. I have the 2 you got and a larger size. I love the quality of the brand.
The smaller front pockets on those cases can be good for small bits and bobs like erasers, paper or binder clips and credit cards or id card or a sharpener.
Hi, Jennifer…..I always see that tag “best seller” above an item but I thought it only pertained to that particular item! Thanks for the info! Can hardly wait to try pushing that button every time!
Seems like #4 would be perfect for a trip. Plenty of space for travel accessories. I bet you could even fit either a slim/long or small square sketchbook. I wonder if the fabric/plastic is washable? Thank you for the review! 😊 EDIT: I commented before I finished the video, but I still totally agree with your opinions. 👍🏼
💜💜💜tfs💜💜💜 I love a good pencil case... hahaha my husband watching me, watching this - YOU DONT NEED ANYMORE OF THOSE! hahahaha - yes dear.
I really like number 5, i have similar pencil case from Lihit Lab
Last year the white case was on sale for 5 dollars each. I bought 3 of them. That case you are thinking about buying is excellent, it is a clone of the dr ion bag that has been discontinued. I have had the dr ion bag for years it is the best quality pencil case i have ever had. The new one that you were looking at looks the same but doesnt feel as sturdy i notice that i kinda baby it and i am ultra hard on the ion, but time will tell. Look up a review on the dr ion pencil case, there is a youtuber that shows it off with her planner of the same size. She used it to capacity, lol.
I would be looking for a pencil case that actually holds just pencils, a few gel pens, a sharpener and eraser. I would use this for traveling strictly, not for the art tools that you need. At home I use a larger case that holds plenty of pencils, sharpener and eraser.
Because I might be in a public place I wouldn’t want to spill out 100+ on a table. Using a smaller amount of pencils in a case I can see directly into is most helpful. I have #5 which I purchased first and wound up using it at home strictly for gel pens.
the white one you can use it for make up pencils lipstick anything a small
If I were to purchase any of these cases, I would probably choose the same ones you did. However, I like the easy access of cases with loops.. I am in the market for a 72 ct. case, and maybe one for 12 watercolor pencils. I saved a few on Amazon. Tomorrow is my day to choose.
I need a wooden desktop pencil case with drawers.
mee too #4 is the one i would get
How about some really big bags that hold a lot of stuff including pencils? I'm looking for one that would hold my Prisma 150 set plus more.
Really good reviews, so detailed thank you so much :·)
The white bag I want to buy… as a makeup bag 😂
Strangely enough when I clicked ‘best seller’ it just took me to the sale page for that particular item. Is there another way to get to the page that lists the best sellers.
What travel case do you recommend that holds more than 100 pencils?
My mom gave me a really great pencil case that has cats all over it and I don't know what brand it is or anything like that but if you look really closely it says color your world or something like that and it fits my gel pens and my colored pencils
Ok, this was an incredibly fun video. Thank you! (well, my wallet doesn't thank you, but... :D )
I've just watched this video and thought I would have a look at how much the white spotted one is in the UK, £36.00 😮😂
What’s the first one
So none of them how held your brushes?
I just wanted to add that my pen and pencil case is very large so it works out great for me
I wish that Jennifer would reply to the comments that people leave as I feel feedback from channel owners is most imperative. Does anyone else feel the same? Or is it just me?
The green pencil case is for school supplies. Pencils, gel pens, sharpeners, markers. These are not made for professional artists in mind. Many of these are good for colored pencils. You have to be fair with your reviews.
Sorry, buy I can't part with my pencils original packaging.
While I put my pencils in pencil cases, I keep the original packing and put my extra pencils in them. I always have doubles of my favourite colours so I can find them easily in the packaging the original set came in :)
It depends on quality of original packaging for me and I’m so ocd I have to keep like brands together.
@braybrannan-saine6407 it's not ocd
How strange is it that a pencil with an eraser on the end has trouble fitting into a 'pencil' bag? Something's not right there.
