Hi everyone, i have w203 and when it's cold outside during the winter car just wouldn't start (fun running full speed). I changed modul on driver side but it's not working. This happened only in the morning and to start it i use hair fan heating area where modul and computer is setteled after 4-5 minutes no problem with starting it. During the day no problem at all. 🙈
i have same problem. can you help me?? every morning i am waitin 2 or 3 minutes. after its starting. just when its cold. after heating eangin, car starting normal
Thanks a million. Just fixed my car with a similar problem. My relay arrangement is different though. I located the starting relay and interchanged it with a similar one, voila!
How did you locate your starting relay? I believe mine doesn't have the same relay he's poking either though it's still the same car( mercedes benz w203,C-class 180 kompressor.mine is cranking only but no start, I will appreciate any kind of help.

My coil light comes on then goes out turn the key,it clicks not starting. take the key out lock the car then unlock and try to start it,then it works... New battery installed. Any know why ? cheers.

Hi man, I have the same issue where the glow plug light won't come on, or it's very irregular. 2004 W203. Doing this works, but I have to do it every time start the car. Is the relay bad or is it icu, a fuse? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
@@haus_of_wisdom for some reason my comment has been deleted?? Well, if you jump the starter relay, (take off the top of the relay) there is a small prong you can push together from like the front of the engine bay, when pushed the engine fan should start, then you can start the car every time you bridge it no problem. I soldered two wires to said relay, one on the prong and another to where it touches, and a little switch I mounted in the cabin. When I wanted to start it I turn on the switch. When I stop I turn it off. I can show you if I'm able to find pictures I took.
Hello. I have problem with starting the engine. Mercedes w203 90kW 2.2cm³. No cranck. Namely, I got random malfunctions on the board like: -Display faulty. -coolant -ESP etc. So nothing of this isn't broken. Electricer said that ECU is broken, second one said that SAM Module is broken. Anyone had same or similar problem?
If anyone ever has a problem with an 07 C230 not starting when cold but will if warm??? If it's an E85 flex fuel car put octane booster in your tank. I had the problem last winter bought a new battery and went away. First real cold day in New England and my car did it this year again. Racked my brain and tried octane boost. E85 is between 100-105 octane. I put octane boost went out at mid night it was 32 F started right up! What a difference too! I thought my car was a dog now it was like I was on 4 cylinders. Car runs way better, starts the transmission shift points woke up. It's like the computer changed everything because the higher octane. Hope I helped someone???
Hmm cool! Is there such a thing as diesel booster?? My w203 diesel 2.2 wont start for anyone or anything unless I do the thing shown in the video. Spent thousands trying to figure it out, batteries, alternator, glow plugs, glow plug relay etc etc.
@@haus_of_wisdom unfortunately no, it was a roulette game everytime I was trying to start it in cold weather right up until the day I just cut my losses and sold it.

Hello, I have a Toyota corolla withe engine 1.4 D4D end problem with starting engine. I start the car with a cold engine (cold start) and it starts without any problems. The hand showing the temperature is at C. That's how it should be. After a short drive, the pointer slowly moves to the middle, as it should be when the engine reaches its normal operating temperature. After driving, I turn off the car and immediately try to start it again, but it doesn't work.Temperature gauge is at C, and it should still be around the middle, because the engine couldn't cool down that fast. Only after several attempts does the car manage to start and the temp. is raised and shows what the current temp. So, until the needle showed the correct temperature, the car could not be started. It seems that it is reading and showing the temperature incorrectly. This all happens especially in a period of strong sun when the car is exposed somewhere in the open sun, then it won't start even though it has been idle for more than half a day. This all started happening at the beginning of summer. One mechanic said that it might be a fault in the engine computer.

Hi All Just purchased a c-class c220 2.2diesel. 02 plate. I am having a problem with it starting. It turns over, starts for 1 second then just dies? I am now having to use "EASYSTART" spray in the air intake above radiator to get it fully running. Any ideas? Thanks
Hi Nori. "Temperature Sensor" But have no idea in the engine were its located. Its only small......mine was missing, but can get clogged up, dirty, grease or oil covered and wont register. These freeze up and cause the cold start problem. Its not petrol starvation or air in the glass tubing - fuel rail etc Temp gage should sit at 80 with ignition lights on No reading - no sensor OR fuse blown. Like in this video the fuse box is prone to let in water and cause more damage. Ill supply a list of what i changed that was not needed, even a hook-up showed no error codes, just indicator light was out. Keep me updated
@@markwilliams137please list the thing to do. With mine, fan turns on when I try to crank. I will have to wait for about 5 mins before I turn it off and retry to start it then it works.

Micula, thanks , replaced ecu and the car now behaves as it should , but that relay cheat was a godsend for getting the car started.
Any ideas if the same car doesn't seem to have the same part you are tapping in that fuse box? I will highly appreciate any advice. Thanks

I did open it, but it did not do anything, i did what you show on a video but still the same.

That was just a temporary fix to start and take the car to the repair shop. The problem is the ECU (engine computer), you will need to change that.

It is a bad ECU. You need to change de engine comuter.

Did you solve the problem? On my side the ESP and alternator are the faults that are displayed.
