    I would love an updated version! Most of these products have been discontinued. It's usually just US UA-camrs that do "drugstore" videos.

  • @alexw1698

    I love how you're generally so chill and remains objective over the products you love.I'm honestly quite sick of how the youtubers are just absolutely "obsessed" over everything....those felt more like advertisement.

      those girls and boys hype for a month then move onto anotherproduct they're paid to hype up. They never return to the hyped products and we see them in makeup collections only

      I bought a blush once because a UA-camr said it was a 'must have', a few months later the blush is being decluttered because she 'never uses it' and was getting rid of it. So much for 'must have'.
      Now I ended up liking the blush but probably could've saved my money as it wasn't extraordinary. But it just showed me how flippant they are with our hard-earned money. And how they go from one free product to another telling us we 'need' them all...rubbish. They talk rubbish.

    • @cocodakilla
      @cocodakilla 8 років тому +2

      Sadly THEY are paid for lying so can afford to throw things away easily. I take their advice with a pinch of salt. Stick to real makeup people :) and always swatch. If you're trying a blush go to a store with your makeup on minus blush and then apply it in store and see what it's like

    I started using the Healthy Mix serum in Light Vanilla in 2012 after watching one of Lisa's videos and haven't used anything else since. @ohlodegato the 10 sleep effect one is good if you want to look dewy or have naturally dull skin as it imparts the skin with a lovely healthy glow. The healthy mix is a great everyday foundation as the finish is super natural and velvety looking. The bio detox is an organic product which is good for people who want to avoid certain chemicals or who like the idea of a more natural formulation..it also gives a natural finish but takes more work to blend in (no chemicals to provide 'slip') x

    I've been using the Maybelline gel eyeliner for a few weeks now and have been loving it. I have ridiculously oily lids and this eyeliner doesn't budge or fade. Also completely agree with the brush. I have tried it with the brush it came with, pointed liner brush and an angled liner brush but keep going back the one it came with. Makes it easy to get a nice thin line for everyday wear.

    @LisaEldridge Hi Lisa! I just revisited this video and just realized...did you just flipped the bird to everyone!? Lol, Jk! Love your videos and amazing advice. So for quite sometime now I've been wanting to ask you something. I'm a male (clearly from my picture, lol) and have been trying to find a lip balm that enhances my lips. I have tried tinted lip balms but they just don't feel or work right. I really would like just my lips to have a bit more of color, like you say either flushed a bit or like you say as if I had just eaten berries. Something that's not so unnatural since I'm not really looking to appear as if I have lipstick on. Anyway, you mention the Pot Rouges for cheeks but you have used them on your lips and wanted to know what you recommend. I really would appreciate your professional advice! Lots of love from the States! ❤️❤️💋

    My experience with Bourjois foundations is that they all have yellow undertone (each one I tried on my skin was clearly very very yellow-y) and even though they do offer foundation's shades for more pale/fair ladies with yellow undertone, they're not at all practical for those group of fair ladies that have pink undertone or neutral. It's a shame.

    • @Yogis406
      @Yogis406 7 років тому

      Kaja Race bourjois have brought out a fantastic foundation for fair skin with no pink or yellow in it, I'm pale and it's perfect for me.
      I think it's called Rose Ivory. It's my new favourite.

    One of the things I love about your videos is the mix of brands you use. So many tutorials use such high end products, understandable when make up is your career & you're surrounded by such products, but it's always great to hear such an esteemed artist championing high street brands.

      Hi there, I am familiar with the German beauty market and quite sure to have seen Revlon in Germany too... at Karstadt I think...Anyhow, there is also a good website called Kosmetikkaufhaus.de...They might have it... Bourjois you get in France ( obviously) , at the Duty Free at Amsterdam Airport and online ( amazon.de)... And Rimmel should be available at the DM drug store chain... Hope that was helpful!

      Max Factor is a sister company for CoverGirl. The products and the ingredients are exactly the same and so they both are dupes for one another. Revlon, Rimmel and Bourjois can be bought from certain German based online stores that specialize in only selling makeup. However, I don't have the links for those shops, sorry. :(

    @AlicetheShort its not legal in the EU for cosmetic companies to test finished product on animals. All the factories and companies I work with also have a rule about raw materials...ie not tested within x amount of years. I know quite a lot about this subject. Too much to write here. I do not agree with animal testing for make-up (who would!!) but many ingredients at some point in history have been tested usually via the drug/medical industries. x

    It would be so cool if you did a video like this now. I wasn't around the makeup world back in 2011 but it amazes me watching this how far drugstore makeup has come. A lot of the stuff where you said "it's hard to find products like this at the drugstore," I couldn't even imagine not having nowadays because there's just so many options. I'm really glad there are so many good products at a budget these days.

    I have just purchased the maybelline gel eyeliner , thanks for the heads up I purchased from superdrug . I have never been able to wear liner inside my eye without it dissapearing by the end of the day . I love it thanks so much , your tutorials are very informative.

    @latavalisetty3 you've touched on my favourite subject!! I think one day I'll make a 3 hour video about that subject! Cosmetic textures have changed beyond recognition since the 80's and the most dramatic change is in the past 10 years. Dont worry most people dont know that stuff either, its not cause you are a newbie...I just spend too much time in make-up factories and Im a little obsessed lol! x

    OMG Lisa I've only discovered your UA-cam videos this week and they're great. Funnily enough had bought Maybelline Gel liner this week before seeing you include it in high street favs video. Had no idea how to use gel liner and have attempted the "flick" liner several times. Thanks to your tutorial had success - well I could pass it off as an ok attempt, so I'm really pleased. Brush is easy to use and gel stays. Thanks for being my saviour xx

    Yaaaaaay Lisa I have been asking for this video for a while and I am delighted you have posted it! I was actually contemplating some different textures like Rimmel mousse shadow and MaxFactor cream blush so will be getting those now! Jessie looks gorgeous and it was really funny how her head showed up as if from nowhere, you must be lovely to work with Lisa! Would love to see your filming setting!

    Thank you, Lisa. It's great to get some tips for quality products that work and don't break the piggie bank. I like to save on colour where I can to put that into skin-care. A big help.

    First of all, I must say that I absolutely love your videos!
    You're really gorgeous and what attracts me most is the way you try to keep things as natural as possible, which is pretty important for me.
    And now for the request: could you recommend a foundation(s) for extremely dry skin? Sometimes it's so dry that no amount of moisturizer can fix it and any foundation (even the most expensive ones) I use give me that dreaded cakey look. My skin tone is light, about the same as yours.

    Found a dead on dupe for the discontinued shade Revlon Strawberry Suede---Rimmel Lipstick 110. I have both and I was shocked that they were so close. Exact match

    I just bought Revlon matte lipstick in strawberry suede, apparently it's not discontinued here. Love the color, and even though it's a bit drying on my lips--I'm use to wearing Chanel rouge allure velvet which is matte but strangely moisturizing--but I can live with that, just put some lip balm beforehand. And now I'm going to try Bourjois healthy mix foundation because you seem to like it very much, and I have combination skin also. Thanks Lisa :)
