If you wanted another one that would probably help get rid of some of those ph strips, a video on hard/well water care and treatment would be appreciated. Trying to maintain my long locks while dealing with that is seriously frustrating.
Definitely test more!! There's a trader Joe's shampoo and conditioner that's supposed to be really great and I'm curious about it. It's called Tea Tree Tingle. BTW, I'm a woman with hair just like yours and I'm learning so much!! Curious if there's any physiological difference between men's and women's hair and scalp that would make a difference in picking products.
Yooo. I stumbled across this pH idea really recently, using glycolic acid instead of deodorant too. Also made me wonder if you could just use lemon juice or cider vinegar or something in your hair? Anyway I’d love to see the cheapest pound shop/dollar store shampoos and conditioners to see how they fare as well. All the best from London 👌
Try testing the Herbal Essences brand! I recently switched to OGX conditioner and enjoy it. I am still using the herbal essence shampoo until I run out, then I can use OGX shampoo :) Awesome videos! I've been growing out my asian fine hair and it is nice learning more about products and hair types!

Tony Horton has his own brand of shampoo and conditioner and white I really thought was cool was that he wanted to have a high-quality one of his own but it also specifically says what the pH is on the bottle. I don’t know any other brands that do that. I personally really quite liked it! Definitely check it out! Honestly it would be a pretty great video for you to try THCare and to share your thoughts on the ingredients that they use because as you know Tony Horton is the P90X guy so he’s super healthy and it’s all about ingredients. It’ll be awesome to see what your take on it would be

I'm almost more intimidated trying to pick out a shampoo now lol... Are the PH values for Shampoos and Conditioners readily available at all? Or do you just kinda have to test them, like you did?
They’re not required to put pH on the bottles. You can get an idea if you request the MSDS safety sheets brands are required to submit to OSHA. But you have to email them and ask specifically for them. And it only gives a range (like 5-7, which isn’t helpful). The best way is to test yourself
Taking pH measurements need to be done in an aqueous solution. The reason why the strips changed color is because shampoo is water based. However, for more accurate testing, the shampoo should be diluted in distilled water at 1:10 ratio. This will not dilute the pH since the hydrogen ions are still present.
I’m fully aware this is an amateur experiment and potentially not as accurate as it should be. As I have access to more accurate tools I can test pH better

My favorite shampoo is the 2 dollar Sunsilk, very simple formulation, nothing fancy what so ever, and leaves my hair looking and feeling excellent, all the more expensive products left my hair feeling oilier, weigh down and troublesome during washing, absolutely hate how many of them are heavily oil based, nightmare trying to work that shit in my hair, no i stick to the cheap drugstore stuff that works.

Will you do a test on Formulate or did you cover that when you toured their labs? I was using OGX before I switched to Formulate and there was a BIG difference - the Formulate was a lot better. One brand that would be awesome to test would be Alterna. I used those religiously after a friend recommended them. They smelled great, but weren't any better than whatever normal shampoo I was using at the time.
How about trying OGX "nourishing + Coconut Milk." It smells good! The only issue is one time I thought I had dandruff but it turned out to be coconut flakes. 😆

hey bro, do you have a video on how to reduce frizz/volume? i like the way my hair looks when wet, ie: its straight and has very little volume. when i brush my hair while its dry, it makes its massive and it looks like shit, so i need help figuring out how to keep it straight . they hair coming out of my head is straight, but it curls at the ends when it drys, and ihavent figured out how to stop this. the only thing that *sort of* helps, is adding some coconut oil, but even then it doesnt quite get it where i want it

You need to DILUTE the Shampoo 1/8 oz. To 3 oz. Purified Water and the Conditioner 1/2 oz to 3.5 oz. Purified water.
