If you scroll back on Entertainment News/Geek Culture websites like IMDB, Variety, and iO9’s daily Morning Spoilers section, a Spider-Women movie loosely tied into the Spider-Verse with all these different Spider-Women was in talks of being developed into a movie after Spider-Verse became a huge success. Obviously this came about because those early treatments got rejected to focus more on Madame Webb. So it looks like a more exciting story possibly involving The Inheriters and Morlun got rejected for something much more generic, and cheaper. A Spider-Verse adjacent Spider-Women crossover film which would have served as a better introduction for these characters, rejected because Sony executives think audiences want cheap, dated, and generic slop.
There’s to many examples of “who asked for this” being not true. Biggest example is guardians of the galaxy they weren’t even D level characters when they got their movies but F level. It’s all about execution and this movie failed that on multiple levels.
A view from Northern Ireland... Once again, some of these films have *not* been released internationally - doomed to fail with a domestic audience only. Thankfully. Thanks for taking one for the team, Martin! 👏
IMO, if you can accept the bad werewolf costumes, it’s actually pretty decent. I’d disagree with Martin on the dumb character decisions, it’s more of a mixed bag of attempted bad decisions taken away by the plot and a few bad security monitoring related decisions back at Frank Grillo’s sister in laws house. When it comes to Frank’s plot, he mostly just does everything he thinks will help him get back to his sister’s house before she can have her house invaded by an intelligent pack of werewolves. Overall, I understand why he thinks it belongs on this list, it just baffles me it’s higher than the stupid movie where an old racist gaslighting lady pisses and shots herself to death. Like, would it even _be_ critically panned if it was a Shudder exclusive with a two day theater engagement?
I’m in 110% agreement with Martin about In a Violent Nature. Some of the k*LLS were interesting but its marketing as some uniquely brilliant subversion of the slasher genre was hyperbolic af. It was basically Friday the 13th with hints of avant garde cinematography
He also had five honorable mentions they didn't get to, its possible its one of those later. I've noticed Martin tends to go softer on movies that are at least inspired and original over cynical trash, probably why Megalopolis didn't make the top 10 either.
I have no experience reviewing movies on camera, but im smart, kinda funny and i love movies. I think yall have inspired me to start making videos. Thanks Korey, thanks Martin. Loved yall since The Spill ❤️🤙
Thank you martin for putting Argyle on this list This may seem like a hot take but Argylle legitimately deserves a spot on this list due to the fact that its pretty much killed the Kingsman franchise. When Fox studios says they have no plans for any Kingsman Sequels or Prequels after the release of Argyle legitimately kills me. Why did Mathew Vaughn have to connect this Movie to the wider Kingsman Universe? I was one of those few who was super excited for The Kings Man sequel and now ive heard absolutely nothing since this Abomination came out,and this doesn't even include Hollywood's obsession with wasting Henry Cavill in his Prime acting years.
After weeks of anticipation, saw Werewolves. Wish I hadn’t. Movie has Frank Grillo playing a scientist…who just happens to be a former spec ops dude. Appreciate them going the practical FX route, but the werewolves all looked like stuntmen in costumes. Sitting through Werewolves was a total bummer.
Like the list but I've noticed that when anyone but Korey is giving there "top 10" the videos super short and they cut a lot.. Korey doesn't even seem like he cares to hear what martin has to say. like if this was done at the end of the stream and they just need to wrap up. also noticed last years top 10 was like this too. Just feels odd.
Yeah, Korey's FIFTY THREE minutes to Martin's twenty one minute video is just tired and shameful. Korey needs to realize that we don't watch only because of him!
5:07 if some people think Red One was BAD? I'd laugh at that remark because clearly Dear Santa is the WORST Christmas movie I've ever seen because Never have Satan aka The Devil be in a Christmas movie and Jack Black should be in better movies you want a much better Christmas movie? go re-watch The Santa Clause trilogy or re-watch the first two Home Alone movies those are better then this Crap
Werewolves started offending me so quick. If the opening had just led to a small scope "people locked in this house" story, it could have been in with a chance. But just, god damn.
I gotta disagree with Martin about the effects in Werewolves. All practical and done by one half of Amalgamated Dynamics and the up close shots look really good imo. Movie is far from “good” but it was nice seeing old school makeup/practical effects utilized rather than solely CGI.
In a violent nature = taking the most uninteresting part of a horror movie (i.e. the killer walking from point A to point B) and making that the entire film.
Kind of off topic, but people always talk about how unfunny Garfield is as a comic strip series but people need to understand that a ton of those comic strips from back then had that same problem Garfield had where it was one concept and they just kept rehashing the same idea with every strip to where it stops being funny. I think Garfield just became the focus of that ridicule because it made such an impression with it's marketing as much as Peanuts that it got more focus then any other comic strip for the concept of rehash ideas.
Thoroughly agreed with the “in a violent nature” being one of the worst of the year, or at least disappointing. Was super excited for it and I usually love slasher films, but damn they did absolutely NOTHING with the concept. Liked the extreme practical gore but not enough to save the movie in the end.

I never laughed so hard after I heard the premise of Dogman. Why and how
I love Caleb Landry Jones who stars in Dogman but having seen the movie, it is as dumb as Martin described it.
