Poor Phil... he's been doing this for so long, you can kind of hear it in his voice. Maybe he was just having a bad day, but regardless. Makes you wonder why his vocal styles have changed so much in the last few years. We as humans can only do this for so long until we have to take it easy on ourselves. That's what a lot of people don't realize, and instead just love to sit there and complain about why a band doesn't sound they same way that they used to. You try doing it for 16 years. Also makes you appreciate that they're still around and playing songs from their first album
This was at the end of the tour and I would guess that his voice was getting tired. I am so glad that they didn’t cancel as a result which shows his and their relentless commitment to their music and fans. I have met them on on several occasions and they are super nice and very humble. I as well am glad that they played old songs and showed that they still have it to do them. And anyone that thinks they can’t or only selects songs should see the full set I got of them playing This Is Exile complete front to back. It was an amazing set and just as solid as it was to start. That is strange, he’s always been solid at every show I’ve seen him at. I hope covid, didn’t get to him and affected his throat. Then again, many vocalists suffer an impass to their voice through some points in their career. This video is absolutely insane regardless. I mean we get the full view of the pit the entire time on top of a great POV live recording 😭
@@joselaba Oh absolutely. Despite, usually, being able to take a beating if you're lucky; vocal chords and the surrounding tissues are technically fragile as fuck. And a hefty cold can absolutely *wreck* your vocals, even the extreme ones. Slight swelling here and there is enough to make things go completely out of whack.
Well, I see myself in the front row. LOL This show was sooooo fucking good! All the bands did great. But, I really got a sweet spot for Whitechapel and Cannibal Corpse. Great recording man!

Lol. I think he meant paying physically from being in the pit. Or… maybe financially as well with his credit card. The show was sold out and I talked to people that paid $200+ for a single ticket. So I guess it could be either or both. Lol
@@perrycreason8014 there’s apparently a lot behind the scenes as the reason that Rudi left them last year so no one knows for sure but Rudi made it sound like it was more on the business side of the band and not the* band itself but that’s just speculation I took from it
He left around October last year after kin released neither Alex or the band have said much about it but Alex hinted at it was around the business side of the band not the band themselves in his statement

What's the point of three guitar players if they all play the same notes on each riff? I understand when some bands do it to overlap different chords within a riff, but if your all playing the same one?
I understand what you mean but that has been Whitechapel for several years. I am sure they each have a purpose for the band. I like the music so that is what means the most to me. Hopefully you do as well and hope you enjoyed my video. Thanks for watching!

i saw them on this same tour in berkley CA and he sounded on point AF i do think this is maybe just an off day for him it happens to us all

Their songs usualy have 2 riffs at the same time and if you play one of them with 2 guitars with different guitar effects it sounds more unique.
