We played as one of our pieces for a bunch of 5th and 6th graders to join jazz band in middle school, and they went crazy. The soloists were running down the aisles of the auditorium getting high 5ves from all their new fans.
Not that I know of. It would be a good exercise for you to learn how to do that. Isolate the solo section and then start with the first few notes. Find the pitches (you can use your horn) and count out the rhythms and durations - and then move on to the next chunk, and the next. Eventually you'll have the solo written out. It can be helpful to use a free program called Audacity which can slow down the speed of the music without affecting the pitch. That way you can go at your own pace. Another good approach is to learn it by ear. Again, take it one phrase at a time. Listen and then try to play it, or try to play along with it. Keep working on it until you get your performance to match the recording. Good luck with the transcription. I'll tell the trumpet player how much you enjoyed his solo.
@@paulbaker3522 that’s awesome one last thing I forgot is what about the trombone solo I play trombone for jazz and we are playing this in my band as well and this is amazing

Has someone transcripted the trumpet solo? I am playing it in my jazz band and I would like to recreate this beauty.

@@paulbaker3522 who would happen to be the trumpet player that played the solo?
@@lazaruswebster3516 Rich Haering, former lead trumpet with the Airmen of Note, the top US Air Force jazz big band.
