A blessed Christmas to you Frs and the Godsplaining community, may celebrating the first coming of Jesus Christ help you prepare earnestly for the second!
So grateful for these lectio divina episodes. Thank you!
“No one likes dead birds…. Except God” 😂. Man I love these intros.
I'm still in the first couple of minutes and this is like mental/verbal equivalent of cars doing burn outs before a drag race. A demonstration of intellectual power that isn't really going anywhere, but is greatly entertaining. I'm here for it. 🙂
This episode has delivered on the promise, the joy of the Gospel. Thank you.
Very refreshing to see people having a good natured laugh, no meanness or sarcasm. Joy, joy, Christian joy! Thanks fathers, I needed that opening banter today! 😂
Thank you for great discussion and fun banter Fathers!
I love you guys. Thank you
I have noticed that there is a difference in the style of your discussion in this round of lectio divina. In the past you all gave mini homilies. This round seems more like conversation. I am not sure which style I prefer because both have their merits. For myself I am looking for insight, some takeaway that leads me to a deeper understanding of the word proclaimed and how I am to live it out in my life for God's glory. You are preachers which is a high call. And I pray that Our Good Lord bless you in your ministries. Thank you for sharing your talents with us.
This reminded me of an Anne Lamont quote- Laughter is the carbonation of holiness.
Thank you for the instruction and the carbonation😊
I look forward to this every year
The sign of the cross at the beginning of the prayer 🙏🏻. Thank you Fathers ❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
If you want to get right to the actual Lectio fast-forward to the 5:15 mark. I usually don't mind your banter, but this was a bit much. Maybe I am just cranky this morning.
I could listen to their banter all day.
Same, @@DoctorDanielle. ...i may or may not have tuned out AFTER banter once or twice, tbph... 🤣
totally enjoyable! the highlight of the week!!! many thanks!!! at 18:47.."hippopotamus ...hypotenuse.." hilarious!!!
So, to answer your question...
the phrase ‘waiting for the other shoe to drop’ means waiting for something negative and inevitable to happen next, following the preceding one. The phrase originated from tenants waiting for a second shoe to drop onto their ceiling following an initial one.
And to answer the other question, the shoes tossed over a wire IS to designated a meeting place... where people sell drugs.
I had to look it up, Glad I checked to see if anyone else answered it😂
I was JUST thinking about your lectio videos and missing them and then in God’s Good Providence here you are!!
Are they only during Advent & Lent? I recall them every week but I could be delusional😉
I know we (our diocese at least) was told no Sacrements, Masses are allowed to be outside. It really messed up outdoor Masses at campgrounds and National Parks like Glacier National Park. Was this van on outside Mass true? From American Bishop's or current Pope?
I would imagine that your bishop has the authority to enact such a ban over his own territory without need of anybody above him weighing in or consenting
15:01 Heyyy... Along the same kinda lines of declension, ive heard that, "Thou shalt not lie with a man as one lies with a woman"... should actually be, "Thou shalt not lie TO a man as one lies TO a woman." ...Yep. Translative mistake. Women are SMARTER... so don't lie to us the same way you lie to yer male pals. Or you're asking for it! 😂 🤣😊 // WARNING ⚠️ Comment contains beer
