  • I'm taking apart my sentro today to show how to clean the entire knitting machine. Cleaning my sentro makes it run smooth and stay quiet without a terrible plastic clicking noise.

There is nothing worse then realizing the noise isn’t just noise but it skipped on random row in the middle of your project. Thanks for the tips

I just cleaned my SENTRO after making twenty hats. It didn't seem to be very dirty. The most I could see was white fuzz. I loved your tutorial. It was easy to follow. Thank you !

Her video is extremely easy to follow because the images are so focused and sharp.Dont let the goth deter you; she's a very articulate, witty girl and knows that machine. My first cleaning was perfectly accomplished.

Thanks so much for this. I recently bought my first sentro and it was difficult to turn, was actually hurting my wrist to turn it and it would get stuck periodically. Followed your video and now it's so smooth and easy to use. Also, somehow, it fixed my row counter. Not sure what was wrong before but once everything was assembled it was working correctly. 🤔 I really appreciate the detailed instructions.

An update on my Sentro. Cleaning and lube is done successfully-no more pushing my machine through those certain areas. Glides right around smoothly. I also got the electric adapter installed on it, and that was pretty easy to do. Working great so far. Wanted to thank you for this video so much!!!

Thank you for giving me the confidence to fix my Sentro 48. After 2 weeks use it suddenly seized solid and I thought that it was destined for the bin.
Having watched you taking your machine apart I decided to give a try!
Scary stuff, it had to be done! It turned out that some flecks from a lovely yarn that I’d been using to make a jumper had gathered in the mechanism for the winding handle and locked it in place.
A real eye opener and something that I’ll look out for in the future.
Incidentally, the row counter seems to be more accurate too!
Thank you so very much! xx

Omg I just got my sentro 48 & 40 needle knitting machine’s for Christmas. Let me tell you they snap, crackle & freaking pop! Makes the worst noises! When I watched your video last week, I was like ok I need to clean them….order super lube off eBay, yay! Just got it in the mail yesterday, I spent over 2 hours cleaning & oiling both my machines, the 48 has like black grease in it, all over the gear to the handle as well! I cleaned it all off & only greased like you stated in the video. Let me tell you, I made one beanie & the 48 was so smooth & quite! Thank you so much for this video, your time & being so precious to help us beginners! Peace

Such a life saver, I know I need to open my new machine but was scared to, growing up in the 80s we had one all metal and once the teeth on it got out of order it was a nightmare . Now I'm confident I will not have a mess when I unscrew everything. Thanks so such. I have to complement you on your video, well done! A quote from my son who works in the filming industry " Clear vocals, good and easy to follow directions are the ingredients for great videos " he would get so frustrated at tutorials with no vocals or just pour editing. But it has made him a better director and editor. ❤

OMG! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I took my sentro apart FOUR TIMES tonight. Each time I put it back together, it wouldn’t work. It became terribly hard to crank, and I had to cut the yarn from the teeth. I kept thinking I was putting it together wrong. But your statement about NOT screwing the screws too tightly was all I needed! Now, it’s cranking again! And the reason I took my machine apart initially? It was cranking weird. Well, earlier in the evening, I was cranking along and looked down and thought I saw a gap between the parts of the machine and needed to screw those four screws a little tighter. I caused the problem. Thank you again! You kept a knitting machine out of the landfill!
