100% relatable problem! I have the same addiction! lol What is funny is I was feeling overwhelmed during the pandemic and wanting to create crafty things but could never seem to complete 1 single project! So frustrating! So I was thinking out loud in front of my 8yr old and 11yr old and said, " I think I am just gonna pack it all up and get rid of it all because I cannot even finish one single project or even thought all the way through! I don't know what is going on with me?" my kids responded in such a sweet way! They said, "Mommy don't do that! We will just help you finish your projects!!!!" Awwwww That actually motivated me! Because that means mommy's crafting is something they enjoy seeing me do! And I started involving them more too! I just discovered your channel and LOVE it! Thank you for such wonderful inspiration and fun ideas too!!!! Now let's Chop it up and use what is in our craft room ladies! (and men too!) =)
GREAT IDEA, hardly have any 12 " blocks, like 10 or so, but never use them, too big. Your idea rubbed me the wrong way, thought it was such a waste of beautiful paper, as i use A6 instead of 6". But never using the blocks, now THAT is sad! So LOVE your idea anyway! 👍 Thx soooo much 4 sharing I'm going to cut up all of the packs, so they are smaller and usable 👌😃. Wow because of you, i really even thought about what would work even better for me, after drawing it out, found out that it was better for me to cut up 1 sheet of 12" x 12" by dividing it in 12"x4", 6"x8" and 2 of 4"x6", WAAUW SO HAPPY WITH YOUR IDEA, that got me thinking, i'm sure i will now finally use those papers after cutting it, THX SÓ MUCH!!!!
What a great idea. And they will go in a long plastic drawer where I can see them! Probably 2-3 packs if each so I can see what’s there but I can store the others in a box in storage until needed to replace the used packs. And scraps can be stored in the zip bags the card stock was stored in. Thank you so much. I have my big paper pads in Totally Tiffany plastic totes made to carry them easily, but it’s frosted and I don’t know what’s inside. This will be so easy! I don’t have 100 pads. I do have close to 30! I like to make simple cards like you created today and add bling if needed. It’s just fun. Sometimes I’ll gift a pack to my friends for when they need a card. And yes please enter me. I have done what is required of me, long time ago. I’ll be back to see what else you get into! Thanks again.
you get me excited to get to cutting , and then the next day I get busy and forget to work on it, Im going to cut up several of my paper pads , I have to many just sitting there. I have saved the videos, tomorrow is my day thanks
Finally! Some great ideas for the 12x12 papers I have! Thank you, I love the ease of following your directions for making the cards and as well as cutting the papers.
I'm a crocheter, a card maker, & I make other crafts, as well. I realize this video is from 10 months ago, so obviously I'm not entering 😄, but if you get the notification for my comment, I want to tell you this video was so fun to watch & very informative! Thank you & God bless! 💞 Now to cut my dust collecting 12x12s down 😁👍
Thank you for the inspiration, I too buy lots of paper pads because they are so petty, but then don't use them because of a fear of making mistakes. My brain won't compute that if I mess a sheet up, it isn't actually the whole cost of the paper pad I would be wasting, that I s I think the main reason. So I'm going to actually start cutting some up while stuck in bed xx
Thank you so much for this idea! I've been just staring at my paper stash and nothing comes to mind. This morning, I cut some of my 12x12 into 6x6 and feel so inspired ... didn't realize cutting up paper would help so much! Again, thank you!
Hi Jenny, I’m watching this video a year later and you’ve totally inspired me to chop my 12x12 paper pads that have been stored for 3+ years!! I’ve subscribed to your channel and look forward to seeing more of your ideas!
Jenny, I just discovered you. Oh my! I am new to papercrafting. I have the products, just not the know how. Or how to get the creativity going. You are the best channel I have found to use what you have and not spend a fortune doing it. Thank you so much!
This video is an answer to my prayers. I had so many 12x12 paper packs that I gave a ton away as I too am a card maker. I kept a handful but never used because the prints seemed to big but watching this video I will now cut them down and voila new paper I can actually use. Thanks so much Jenny for this awesome idea!!! Gayle😎
I am inspired to try this technique. It will also make it easier to pack many paper options without requiring as much space or weight lifting capacity when I travel to crafty weekends! Brilliant!
Love this idea of cutting the paper to make it more usable instead of leaving it in the pads. Seeing the papers individually makes them more inviting, and congrats to you for being bold enough (& smart enough) to do this! I love the beautiful colors of the cardstock but also really love the hibiscus print. The recipients will truly like the cards you made. 😊
I want to learn how to make clever cards like this to send to my loved ones too. It's so much more personal when it is handcrafted specifically with someone in mind.
YOU HAVE A PROBLEM? I can't resist buying stamps!!!!!!.....hum..... you and I need to get together!!!!! I just can't stop myself from buying stamps ... YOUR AWESOME WITH IDEAS!!!!
Hallelujah! I have so many 12x12 pads & I was looking for a way to mass produce cards for nursing home residents, medical staff, etc. Thank you so very much!
I started laughing out loud when I reached the 1:13 mark. Then I realized the jokes on me, I own as much or more loose paper. You have a pleasant voice to listen to.
I want to be a card maker. So far I'm just a collector of crafty stuff! I'm looking for simple, and this looks like something I could do. So, so glad I found your channel!
I think all of us are collectors of crafty stuff! :) it sure is a wonderful hobby / addiction! Thanks for your comment and for taking the time to watch my videos!
This video is 2 yrs old now, so I don’t know if you will see this comment. I don’t make 5x7 cards but love your A2 ideas. I think I’ll give this a try!
Like Jenny, I am a card maker not a scrapbook maker so I could never figure how to use the 12x12 papers. Two suggestions I found on other sites. First is to cut them up as , Jenny does but turn them over so you be do not see the designs. For some reason, the cuts always make for beautiful designs. The second is to cut them in irregular but fairly large pieces and wrap this pieces with ribbon. Use Jenny's pocket design insert the pieces into a pocket and give them as puzzle cards. This works really well with the full sheet sentiment papers.
I love making cards for family and friends. I didn’t discover this craft until after I retired, and I am also a little bit nutty about paper! I can totally look at a paper pad and think of all the cool projects that will totally justify spending my grocery money for it! (As if it’s ever A paper pad😉) What a great idea for making a 12 x12 pad easier to use. And.... I have never gone in the craft room to straighten, clean, or organize without ending up getting so inspired that I have to make something. Thank you. I love what you have done here.
Hi Jenny. I am watching this video a year after you posted it because I’m watching a lot of your videos today as I have in the past. I did the same thing with Christmas packs. Two weeks ago I cut up my card stock for Christmas cards and mass produced quite a lot of cards. I’m kind of proud of myself. I am going to find those card stock paper packs, the same ones you just worked with and mass-produce I was also because I know I already have that paper. Thanks so much for your video and your ideas. Have a great day. Susan from Clarkston, Michigan. 😊🥰🤗👍👋
Thank you so much for this video, Jenny. It was just what I needed. Took me only 15 minutes to cut up a paper pad of 12 x 12 paper...I used up the last 2 hours cutting my paper and putting them in the 4 x 6 photo holder container. Now I have to go buy another container to put the rest of my papers into. LOL
I decided to make a bunch of scrap strip papers. like you, I have 100's of loose & bound 12x12 papers. I'm now cutting all of them down, to your dimensions. It will even take up less space. Thank you for this idea.
Love your ideas for the hoards of paper, stamps and dies that each of us have , great ideas for cutting them up and having them on hand. Thanks for sharing Gail
lol - whew - ok - so glad I am not the only one hoarding 12x12s - but I dont even want to begin to count - so I do tear out the full page layouts and share with my scrapbook club ladies - I love the idea to cut down some of the other papers and will definately do that. I have JUST started to get back to scrapbooking after almost a year hiatus. I have been making tons of cards as gifts so its nice to get back to using up my photos. But I will trade you a 6x6 paper pack if you like lol or two or three :)
Haha! I have tons of cardstock hanging out for a long long time. It’s always fun when you can use it and make cards...to later realize, why did I not make that before 😂
I, too, am a paper addict. They are very hard to resist but I’ve got so many now that I, also, don’t even know what I have. I love your idea and am going to try it - after I get some pouches to keep the papers in.
Hi. This is my first time watching, this video has helped me so much to start making cards for the first time ever and sure could use the card stock you are giving away. I am 75 years young and now I want to make cards. Can you believe it? LOL
Hi Tanya, I love both of these cards. Your ideas are so cool, using both the colored letters and the black letters looks so cool! And the Jungle paper is so pretty and could also be incorporated into a card with an animal stamp, I.e. the giraffe and a funny bone sentiment as well as making a pretty card. These paper packs are versatile and could make some very unique cards! Love the video!
Your channel popped up for your viewing. These were wonderful ideas. I can so relate to having a myriad of cardstock pads because they're so pretty. But then I don't use them. Thanks to you that's all about to change. ❤
Great idea, l downsized greatly 2 years ago, so my rule is that if something comes in, something goes out. I really think about my purchases nowadays. I don’t want to win anything, just think its good to use what you have
That is where my head is at. I have set the same rule for myself this year. I am Destashing regularly and if I use something and have the thought of not returning to it soon then it is going as well. I am trying to break my crafty addiction. I am also telling myself that I can like it, but that doesn’t mean I need to buy it. I am a work in progress.
@@BittyPenny That is for Sure!! What is helping to cure me is having to clear out my folks' house, since they wouldn't. All of my sister's family, and ours worked on it, and it still took so much time, due to our jobs, and taking care of our own homes. We think hard about what we buy, now. And you are so right about It being okay to like something, but we don't need to buy it!!
I loved these ideas! Sometimes I struggle with card ideas. Like I lost my mojo or something. I worked through this last slump by focusing on a technique that I have had great success with and it seemed to work.
I have so many 12x12 papers and I hate cutting a whole piece for one card. This is a great idea so I can make a bunch at a time and not feel like I wasted paper
I'm a brand new card-maker and I was struggling because didn't know how to cut my paper properly without wasting the 12x12 pads. Thank you for showing me how to do this. Those cards are awesome!
🇨🇦 H-Eh! From Wasaga Beach, Ontario 🇨🇦. What awesome ideas you have to make use of what we have on hand and your elegant cards. I love your "shop in your own craft room" idea!
I absolutely love this idea. I do this first when I get paper as opposed to trying to sort through 8 million packs of paper in finding colors. You have absolutely saved my life with crafting cards! The ADHD in me loves you!
Oh boy! If you could see my craft room!!! 😳 I have a paper pad "collection" problem, too! I soooo relate!!! Those cards came out so pretty! Very creative! I love your channel and the ideas you have on chopping papers down so you utilize the entire piece with no scrap leftovers. Tfs! 💗😊
I often use 12x12 patterned paper to make envelopes. Coordinate so the inside matches the card I’ve made. Makes for a nice presentation and people seem to enjoy them.
6x6 I can relate 12x12 are scary! Lol I cut them down fast. I have a Facebook group on using scraps facebook.com/groups/3005128029721785/ use scraps! ua-cam.com/users/bkabarbieboop use scraps!
I do this too. I chop down my 12x12 pads into 6x6. The large scrapbook pages with text get chopped down and I die cut shapes from the patterned and blank parts of those pages. I split my pads into 8 paper packs, keeping 1 for myself and I sell the rest to fellow crafters, either as packs, or as card making kits. It's a great way to get more use out of my papers and make a little money to keep replenishing my stock. :) Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed your 4x6 ideas as well. Your cards turned out sweet.
Loving these "Use What You Have" videos that you, and other teachers put out!! I separated my 6x6 pads in a similar way. I have done a couple 12x12 pads this way. And, it does help getting through the 'no Mojo' periods, because I have forgotten what I even have. I also decided to stop buying these paper pads, as neat as they are.😒. I will use what I have, but I have dies, ink, embossing folders, markers, and brass stencils, not to mention a Cuttlebug, and ScanNCut. I really don't need to get anymore patterned paper to make cards. Also, the 6x6 size is easy to just grab to slip in my Cuttlebug to emboss, or cut a small sheet full of shapes. As for the larger pieces that are hard to cut up, I plan to get a 12x12 frame to display them, when Hobby Lobby has them on sale. Otherwise, the rest go into cards and tags, small gift boxes and bags. I love your cards! That's why I like just going through my supplies, sometime, until the mojo comes back.☺️
Thank you for this idea. I don’t do scrapbooking or cards but I use die cuts to make ATCs, mini photo albums and art journals. I cut them down to the size my die cutting machines use (6x6, 3x6) and it is very handy. I notice that when i cut them down I saw cool markings that I didn’t notice in the 12 x 12s.
Only 2 years late LOL. I just stumbled onto your channel. I'm a new junk journalist, working on my 6th journal now. I really love how you ''bagged'' up each set of cardstock you chopped up. I just bought a bunch of 12x12 as I used up most of my 6x6 for cards etc. thinking I could cut the 12x12 into 6x6's. I am a new YTer and only posted one video so far and look forward to making more videos and learning more about YT. Liked and subscribed to your channel. ☺♥
You are not alone in your addiction lol I have 2 large shelves of paper and 2 large shelves of cardstock! Thanks for the tips!! Love that you cut up the cover into swatches!!
I cut up the front covers with my dies, after adhering them to cardstock scraps for dimension. Instant embellishments, and most times they have a bit of sheen to them.☺️
This is just a great idea. I don't think you would have thought of this card idea without cutting up your paper packs. Thanks for this idea. I for one would appreciate getting a pack of either of these I love the packs you created.
Such a clever idea to chop up those paper pads! I have tons I haven’t touched now I know what to do with them! I do scrapbook but can use them to back my photos! I also make cards so that’s handy for that! I also LOVE to stitch on my layouts and cards so I will do that too!!!
I love card making and I also have a lot of paper packs. I work at Michaels so go figure. The idea you shared will help me get out of my creative rut I am in sometimes. Your videos and your voice is very therapeutic. Thank you for sharing.
I too am a card maker, no scrapbooking. This idea is great! So simple, so useful! Usually I’ll cut as needed. But I think by cutting them up I’ll be using pattern paper more often. Thanks so much! Really enjoy your videos! 💜
100% relatable problem! I have the same addiction! lol What is funny is I was feeling overwhelmed during the pandemic and wanting to create crafty things but could never seem to complete 1 single project! So frustrating! I love to play in my junk journal and make cards & tags . Lately I have been making paper bows out of paper pads to sell. Have a great evening.
I have been looking for simple card making ideas for people at a senior center. These are perfect! Thank you!!
I’m so happy to know I’m not the person with a paper addiction to paper packs. Thanks for great ideas
Finally! Some great ideas for the 12x12 papers I have! Thank you, I love the ease of following your directions for making the cards and as well as cutting the papers.

I love the way the colorful happy happy birthday card came out
Thank you for the inspiration, I too buy lots of paper pads because they are so petty, but then don't use them because of a fear of making mistakes. My brain won't compute that if I mess a sheet up, it isn't actually the whole cost of the paper pad I would be wasting, that I s I think the main reason. I am so glad to see your ideas for 12x12 paper because, like you, I am a card maker....not a scrapbook person.

Beautiful cards. I have enough 12''x12'' to wallpaper the whole of Australia, you have inspired me. Thank you.

I'm infatuated with explosion boxes right now. I would love these papers. Great idea you had. I think I will look at my paper pads now.

I especially like the jungle themed paper. Thanks for sharing.
Stumbled across your channel while straightening up my craft room. Enjoying the Chop It Up series... Thanks!
Hi Jenny! I love your thoughts on using “ my stash “! We all have it, so glad you can motivate me to spread some happy mail! 😊
This is a great idea. I usually cut up 12 x 12 paper in half. I keep a set of 12 x 6 and a set of 6x 6. I love that tropical paper.
I just got inspired to CHOP! Thanks Jenny
Thank you so much for this video, Jenny. It was just what I needed. I just came crossed this video and I can’t thank you enough for it! I have so many 12x12 pads! So I have started to cut them up tonight. ❤️
I loved this video! Sometimes organizing my supplies is just as fun as creating cards. :)
You are so creative!!! I love that you are making 5x7 cards. Thank you for the great ideas.
Love the happy birthday rainbow card
Thank you for your ideas. I need to cut down my paper too 😄
I use a lot of 6 x 6 paper pads but still have some 12 x 12 pads left over from my scrapbook days. LOVE this idea to have card fronts ready.
6x6 I can relate
12x12 are scary! Lol I cut them down fast.
I have a Facebook group on using scraps
facebook.com/groups/3005128029721785/ use scraps!
ua-cam.com/users/bkabarbieboop use scraps!
I too have a problem when it comes to paper/card stock! Loved the idea of cutting it all up like that.
Wow. I have been missing out on not being aware of your channel. Fun and Functional For a Fact.
That's why I like just going through my supplies, sometime, until the mojo comes back.☺️
Thank you for your beautiful and kind comments!
Amazing! Happy you're enjoying!
What a great way to make me use of all the 12x12 paper pads. Anxious to start this project. Thank you for sharing.
You are not alone in your addiction lol I have 2 large shelves of paper and 2 large shelves of cardstock! Thanks for the tips!! Love that you cut up the cover into swatches!!
I cut up the front covers with my dies, after adhering them to cardstock scraps for dimension. Instant embellishments, and most times they have a bit of sheen to them.☺️
So sorry I don’t live in the area for gifting, love the ideas behind and definitely given me inspiration to create more
Love these ideas. This is my year tossed my stash
Totally love this idea- can’t tell you how many 12x12 packs I have- brilliant!
I love how you cut up your paper packs, I’ll look at mine in a different light
O.k.! You’ve inspired me to pull out ALL of my paper pads and start cutting!
Glad to hear you say that you buy stuff all the time and sometimes don’t use it! I do too much of that myself, this is a great idea.
I love to cut Up card stock and designer series paper and have them ready for quick cards. I loved the birthday card.
I just found this. I love it. I want to say your explanation is very good and I like listening to you.
I love this idea!!! I have so many 12x12 paper pads. I love them. TFS
This is just a great idea. I don't think you would have thought of this card idea without cutting up your paper packs. Thanks for this idea. I for one would appreciate getting a pack of either of these I love the packs you created.
You have inspired me to chop up my 12 by 12 papers. Love your videos and your voice.
Thank you! My name is Phyllis, and I'm a paper-holic. Love the colors! My friends and I talk about "shopping" each other's stashes!
My friends & I have also discussed 'shopping' each other's craft supplies, lol.
@@PamG012 wouldn't that be fun!
Wish I had a crafty friend nearby!
@@cindyhenry1410, maybe you could exchange "Happy mail" with your friends who live away from you.
I need to make up some packs, and send some, or just have on hand, for the grandkids to use.
Hate I didn’t see this sooner. I have gone strictly to cardmaking and love your ideas!
I love the colors of the rainbow pad! Thanks for sharing this.
I too am a card maker, no scrapbooking. This idea is great! So simple, so useful! Usually I’ll cut as needed. But I think by cutting them up I’ll be using pattern paper more often. Thanks so much! Really enjoy your videos! 💜
