100% relatable problem! I have the same addiction! lol What is funny is I was feeling overwhelmed during the pandemic and wanting to create crafty things but could never seem to complete 1 single project! So frustrating! So I was thinking out loud in front of my 8yr old and 11yr old and said, " I think I am just gonna pack it all up and get rid of it all because I cannot even finish one single project or even thought all the way through! I don't know what is going on with me?" my kids responded in such a sweet way! They said, "Mommy don't do that! We will just help you finish your projects!!!!" Awwwww That actually motivated me! Because that means mommy's crafting is something they enjoy seeing me do! And I started involving them more too!
I just discovered your channel and LOVE it! Thank you for such wonderful inspiration and fun ideas too!!!! Now let's Chop it up and use what is in our craft room ladies! (and men too!) =)

I love making cards for family and friends. I didn’t discover this craft until after I retired, and I am also a little bit nutty about paper! I can totally look at a paper pad and think of all the cool projects that will totally justify spending my grocery money for it! (As if it’s ever A paper pad😉) What a great idea for making a 12 x12 pad easier to use. And.... I have never gone in the craft room to straighten, clean, or organize without ending up getting so inspired that I have to make something. Thank you. I love what you have done here.

Thank you so much for this idea! I've been just staring at my paper stash and nothing comes to mind. This morning, I cut some of my 12x12 into 6x6 and feel so inspired ... didn't realize cutting up paper would help so much! Again, thank you!

What a great idea. And they will go in a long plastic drawer where I can see them! Probably 2-3 packs if each so I can see what’s there but I can store the others in a box in storage until needed to replace the used packs. And scraps can be stored in the zip bags the card stock was stored in. Thank you so much. I have my big paper pads in Totally Tiffany plastic totes made to carry them easily, but it’s frosted and I don’t know what’s inside. This will be so easy! I don’t have 100 pads. I do have close to 30! I like to make simple cards like you created today and add bling if needed. It’s just fun. Sometimes I’ll gift a pack to my friends for when they need a card. And yes please enter me. I have done what is required of me, long time ago. I’ll be back to see what else you get into! Thanks again.

I do this too. I chop down my 12x12 pads into 6x6. The large scrapbook pages with text get chopped down and I die cut shapes from the patterned and blank parts of those pages. I split my pads into 8 paper packs, keeping 1 for myself and I sell the rest to fellow crafters, either as packs, or as card making kits. It's a great way to get more use out of my papers and make a little money to keep replenishing my stock. :) Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed your 4x6 ideas as well. Your cards turned out sweet.

I am a paper hoarder. I love all the different designs and colors and oh my! What I found amazing was how when you broke that 12x12 down, I could actually SEE what to do with it. It changed the perspective and made it more usable. Right now, I am working on searching out my ink pads so I know exactly what I have.

Like Jenny, I am a card maker not a scrapbook maker so I could never figure how to use the 12x12 papers. Two suggestions I found on other sites. First is to cut them up as , Jenny does but turn them over so you be do not see the designs. For some reason, the cuts always make for beautiful designs. The second is to cut them in irregular but fairly large pieces and wrap this pieces with ribbon. Use Jenny's pocket design insert the pieces into a pocket and give them as puzzle cards. This works really well with the full sheet sentiment papers.

What is helping to cure me is having to clear out my folks' house, since they wouldn't. All of my sister's family, and ours worked on it, and it still took so much time, due to our jobs, and taking care of our own homes. We think hard about what we buy, now.
And you are so right about It being okay to like something, but we don't need to buy it!!

Cutting up your stash is a great way to get inspiration! I find that even just organizing my stuff helps too. I love how you had the idea to put the colored blocks together in a wonky way. It's so fun when ideas come into your head as you are working. I think that is key. We tend to feel like we have to have a plan before we start crafting. Sometimes, it helps to just play.

Hi Tanya, I love both of these cards. Your ideas are so cool, using both the colored letters and the black letters looks so cool! And the Jungle paper is so pretty and could also be incorporated into a card with an animal stamp, I.e. the giraffe and a funny bone sentiment as well as making a pretty card. These paper packs are versatile and could make some very unique cards! Love the video!

lol - whew - ok - so glad I am not the only one hoarding 12x12s - but I dont even want to begin to count - so I do tear out the full page layouts and share with my scrapbook club ladies - I love the idea to cut down some of the other papers and will definately do that. I have JUST started to get back to scrapbooking after almost a year hiatus. I have been making tons of cards as gifts so its nice to get back to using up my photos. But I will trade you a 6x6 paper pack if you like lol or two or three :)

I was totally excited to use up 40 sheets of a 12x12 pad for 2020 Christmas cards! I cut up another pad and got all the panels glued to card bases, but they have not all been finished off and given away. I would like to have those finished the first quarter of this year. At the end of 2019, I went crazy with packs of 8.5x11 colored cardstock. I have 4 sets of layering dies so I "needed" 20 or 25 packs of paper. I have discovered that with the layering I do on slimline cards that the thinner cardstock (65 lb) can be used for those.
I am quite enjoying use what you have videos. December through Mother's day is my craft spending freeze. I am hoping to use up another 12x12 pad, the foiled Christmas 12x12 pad, and at least 3 packs of 8.5x11 colored cardstock this year.

Thank you for the inspiration, I too buy lots of paper pads because they are so petty, but then don't use them because of a fear of making mistakes. My brain won't compute that if I mess a sheet up, it isn't actually the whole cost of the paper pad I would be wasting, that I s I think the main reason. So I'm going to actually start cutting some up while stuck in bed xx

GREAT IDEA, hardly have any 12 " blocks, like 10 or so, but never use them, too big. Your idea rubbed me the wrong way, thought it was such a waste of beautiful paper, as i use A6 instead of 6". But never using the blocks, now THAT is sad! So LOVE your idea anyway! 👍 Thx soooo much 4 sharing I'm going to cut up all of the packs, so they are smaller and usable 👌😃. Wow because of you, i really even thought about what would work even better for me, after drawing it out, found out that it was better for me to cut up 1 sheet of 12" x 12" by dividing it in 12"x4", 6"x8" and 2 of 4"x6", WAAUW SO HAPPY WITH YOUR IDEA, that got me thinking, i'm sure i will now finally use those papers after cutting it, THX SÓ MUCH!!!!

Loving these "Use What You Have" videos that you, and other teachers put out!!
I separated my 6x6 pads in a similar way. I have done a couple 12x12 pads this way. And, it does help getting through the 'no Mojo' periods, because I have forgotten what I even have. I also decided to stop buying these paper pads, as neat as they are.😒. I will use what I have, but I have dies, ink, embossing folders, markers, and brass stencils, not to mention a Cuttlebug, and ScanNCut. I really don't need to get anymore patterned paper to make cards. Also, the 6x6 size is easy to just grab to slip in my Cuttlebug to emboss, or cut a small sheet full of shapes.
As for the larger pieces that are hard to cut up, I plan to get a 12x12 frame to display them, when Hobby Lobby has them on sale. Otherwise, the rest go into cards and tags, small gift boxes and bags.
I love your cards! That's why I like just going through my supplies, sometime, until the mojo comes back.☺️

Hi ~ I don’t know how I hadn’t found your page before. I have done paper crafting and am fairly new to card making. So, I know ALL about buying all sorts of paper and storing them. This is perfect 🤩 I will also be able to share with my crafty friends. Have a great day 🌻

I love card making and I also have a lot of paper packs. I work at Michaels so go figure. The idea you shared will help me get out of my creative rut I am in sometimes. Your videos and your voice is very therapeutic. Thank you for sharing.

I use a lot of 6 x 6 paper pads but still have some 12 x 12 pads left over from my scrapbook days. LOVE this idea to have card fronts ready.

I have so many 12x12 papers and I hate cutting a whole piece for one card. This is a great idea so I can make a bunch at a time and not feel like I wasted paper

On the one hand I love your idea! I love how bold you are by doing it and I can completely understand why!
On the other hand I am not 100% cardmaker and love some good photoalbums between... For those I need bigger cardstock than 6x6 or 4x6... Which makes me stress out over your idea, because what if I chopped up a paper I wanted to use for an album??
Given this dilemma, while writing I came up with an idea to compromise... I think I might execute your idea for the paperpads/papers I have 2 off. Yeahhh, I like that!
Thanks for sharing your idea. It just makes it more accessible I think.

Just found you! So much fun to go creative with stash! I recently did that with a bday 6x6 DSP I had FOREVER! I was SO inspired that for 2 weeks made nothing but cards with that pack! I just may have to pull a pack in my stash for a “cutting session”.

Years ago a friend told me she cut her 12x12 paper into 4” squares, but that didn’t really make sense to me for A2 cards. Love your idea, and those are great colors and patterned paper. Thanks for the great suggestion and chance to win! I’m in the US.

That's a great way to make your supplies available to use. You can see them better than when they are in the pads. The cards were quick and easy. Thanks for the ideas!

I have a few 12 x 12 paper pads and don’t use them as I don’t know how! (I’m fairly new at card making!) This video has taught me how and I am so happy!! I love your ideas they’ve truly inspired me! I was gutted when at the end I realised I couldn’t enter the draw for your card packs as I’m in the UK. I will continue to watch your you tubes though! Thank you!

I see this was made in January of this year and I am watching it on Nov. 1 and I am fascinated by what you showed me and I can't wait to do this to some of my big books of paper. I'm late, but glad I found you and have subscribed.

Great ideas. I have been cutting up my 12x12 into slimline card fronts and bases. I too am going to try and use as much of my stash as I can this year. 1 in and 1 out rule is also in place.

Great ideas! I take the sheets I can’t use, cut them up, and use the back of them on the inside of my cards that have dark colored bases. Then there is no waste at all to the packs.

Just found your channel. Will have to check out all your video. For the 12x12 paper you can cut them for A2 cards. -small size cards.
Cut at 4 inches and 5 1/4 inches. You would then get 6 pieces per sheet. Great idea to do in advance. Just did 100 cards and cut all front panels at once then assembly lined the other embellishments.
