- There are several Atom 3 's at my local club now and everyone is slowly dialing them in. This is the third test run for the Atom 3 and we are making progress. Thank you to Adam and Alex for you help and guidance with the setup of the car. I think now it is starting to get to the point where I need to really work on my driving.
Now we have the latest version the Atom3
and we finish the build so it is ready for the track.
Join us on our GT12 journey.
The Atom 3 boasts lots of new parts
• ‘S2’ Version (#K207) All of the fibre components included are made from our own ‘S2’ Material, including the chassis itself.
• NEW - S2 chassis included in the kit, with increased flexibility, lower centre of gravity and lower cost than the ‘CF’ chassis.
• NEW - Gear Differential offering improved cornering ability in the majority of conditions. On power steering is improved as well as corner entry stability. The car will also drive much flatter and have more predictability in high traction conditions. The ball differential can still be used and is likely to be an improvement only in very low traction conditions. For ultra high grip tracks a spool option is also available.
• NEW - Top Decks include multiple flexibility settings to further fine tune the flex to gain even more performance.
• NEW - Fully updated front end design with much easier build, far simpler castor adjustment, improved drivability and overall performance. Maintenance is also reduced.
• NEW - Front beam improving front end flex characteristics.
• NEW - Front beam socket using O-ring fixing system.
• NEW - Moulded ultra-lightweight hub carrier with improved suspension and damping. More robust design.
• NEW - Longer lasting front damping with all new king pin.
• NEW - Big Bore side and centre damper, offering improved damping. They also give greater damper oil retention (less frequent maintenance required).
• NEW - Stronger pod base helping to remove any twist in the rear pod.
• NEW - Tweak free and easy LiPo mounting using new lightweight O-ring fixing.
• NEW - Interchangeable front LiPo position stops with 4 spaced settings included.
• NEW - Simplified lightweight servo fitment, fits directly onto slotted chassis holes.
• NEW - Independent, lightweight front bumper mount. Easier front end assembly.
• NEW - Optional brass weights in 5g or 7.5g can be fitted in multiple locations, to achieve the perfect car weight in this controlled weight class. Electronics can be removed by simply unscrewing the weights from underneath.
• NEW - Optional 1.5° camber strap, for when increased steering or agility is required. 1.0° camber is included in the kit.
• NEW Speed Secret 64 tooth 48dp Machined Spur Gear option.
• NEW - Range of optional colour coded front springs available.

Great progress.....its amazing to think that the top drivers are able to notice the tiny difference that the height of the cables would cause.....On another level pal...
Good luck with the MTC Nationals....
Cheers buddy
Time to start prepping
Holy cow, the race footage at the end, especially through those last turns onto the straight... Wow!
Crazy skills from the top guys at the club
Even if I want to experience on-road and touring RC cars, they are too sensitive and difficult to manage.
However, when I watch this video, I know that it is difficult to manage, but I want to try it. This is a great video.👍👍👍
Thanks for commenting
The other good thing about cutting that tubing off the sensor cable is it makes the cable less stiff so it helps to allow the motor pod to move with less resistance (that's been my experience with F1 cars).
You can get flexy ones
Good to know
Maybe see what the most popular GT12 body is at the track you run?
Really interesting piece some great racing footage too! I’ve only recently discovered your channel and you look and sound very familiar! Do I know you? I’m originally from Harpenden in herts. Or am I just a crazy old fool who thinks he knows everyone? 😂😂 enjoying your videos cheers
We both frequent Harpenden often
I don’t live there anymore I’m talking 25years ago 😮 when we were all much younger 😂
Been around Harpenden, St Albans, Hemel and Watford most of our lives so may have crossed paths
@@PopalongRC yeah maybe anyway I’m in north Cambs now so not much chance of our paths crossing now 😂 . I enjoy watching the racing stuff , wish I had the time to get into it. But i barely find enough time to go play with my cars as it is! Look forward to seeing your progress with the new car
Cheers Shaun
Hey, been watching you guys since i started getting involved im the touring car driving, i am actually upgrading my tt01e, i am already brushless with a lot of essential alu upgrades . All i wanted to know: is tamiya actually competitive? I run a brushelss sensored system, metal cvd, metal steering linkage and all the essential upgrades the tt01e needs (metal ball bearings, adjustable steering links, absima onroad tires, very fast servo etc) can a car upgraded like that, obviously in the right hand, cokpete against some other 4wd onroad competitive kits, even among tamiya itself (TA or FF class), or it is and always be a cheap kit only able to run against its own?
I’ve seen very good drivers with TT01s beat average drivers with top spec cars… they are a capable platform … but they have there limitation…
Looked a lot better, still looks short on rear traction and hard to drive. Sounds like you have been talking to the fast guys. Normally a spool is ran in GT12 or LMP when traction is high but it may actually make the car easier to drive if the car is as you say more designed around that concept
I may be wrong but it does seem to be more like a LMP car
@@PopalongRC oh no you are definitely right the latest GT12 cars are pretty much LMP cars but with different bodies and different width rear tyres
ditch that horible porsche shell !!
Is that what it is supposed to be
@@PopalongRC supposedly. LOL
First boooi
Second
Nice
