If you open the side cover, where are all the motors, so when you power on the device, all the motors should run for a couple sec. If one of them doesn't run, there is a good chance that it's the problematic one. More info I can provide if you give me the model.
There are printers and MFPs that use the same drum unit (Kyocera printers and MFP s). And in this case, obviously should not be a problem. There are non Kyocera Drum sets, but I have not used them, so cannot tell you what possible problems can be. The comparable parts is easy to find. Just download the parts manual for the model. And usually parts manual tells for what model this drum uses. Also, just Google the drum unit. One of the web that show the comparable models is precisionrollers.
If the machine has a default password, so it's available online: Admin is the log and Admin for the password. If the copier/MFP default pw was changed, so only reset. You can Google for the default pw, older models have diff pw.
