Mostly those who first appear in SW1 get their original 2nd costume, with exception of Kunoichi and Goemon because they didn't appear in SW2, so they get new one. Most SW2 and SW2XL characters get the same one with palette swapping only.
Masamune's third costume was already awesome, and now his fourth is just the color-swap of his original outfit? Not just him, but Oichi and plenty of the others too. Nice going, Koei.
They aren't *just* color swaps. As the ultimate tribute to Koei's laziness, Oichi, Masamune, and all the characters introduced in SW2/SW2XL use the EXACT SAME alternate colors from SW2/SW2XL as their 4th costumes in Orochi Z. Even though Goemon and Kunoichi got brand new outfits, I guess it was too much to ask for new alternates for, say Ieyasu Tokugawa. Oh well. At least Okuni gets her long hair + sunsuit back. *drools*

jerongordon: Okuni's 4th outfit is from SW1. Most of the characters from SW1/SW1XL get their SW1 alternate outfits as their 4th. I don't mind, as their alternates are radically different from their original designs. Rambo Mago, warrior monk Keiji, kimono Ina, and antler helm Yukimura are among my other favorites. And yes, sunsuit Okuni is absolutely scorching!
well I see KOEI went lazy with the SW2 character's 4th outfits by making them color palettes. Shame really since their 3rd outfits basically outshine all their 4th. still glad to see all the original SW characters got their 2nd costumes from SW/XL. I like Ina's XL outfits and the schoolboy ranmaru outfit.
see, this is during Koei's stupid and lazy era (Between Dynasty Warriors 6 and Dynasty Warriors 7) where they truly stopped giving a crud on originality and made some bad descisions. examples: Creating Warriors Orochi Z, combining two games with one systems while ignoring the other two consoles it was on. seriously? Would it be so hard to create DLC for to Xbox? Refusing to ship Warriors Orochi Z outside of Japan.
The only ones I really like here are Yukimura's, Kunoichi's, Magoichi's, No's, Hattori's, Honda's and Ina's the rest are all used ones/color/design revamp.

Most of the Samurai Warriors costumes were all the characters second costumes from the original game. Oddly enough, the original game was in my opinion the hardest of the koei games, even on easy mode. This is coming from a vet of koei games since the original Dynasty Warriors. Yukimura Sanada's, and Mitsuhide's costumes in this vid are prolly my favorite out of the whole series though.

I see. I wouldn't know because I only know Hideyoshi from Warriors Orochi 1 and 2. I haven't gotten around to any Samurai Warriors games yet.

Orochi X is the human form of Orochi in Orochi Warriors 2 and no he is not featured in Z
