myself, to make that story telling feeling, I introduce small changes in the phrases. Each repetition has at least an accent changed. sometimes I simply change the hand pattern I use to play the same phrase. I find the "I insist" to be better than the "i repeat".

I standard musical notation each of these patterns would be considered 2 bars of 4/4 time and all the notes are triplets.

Often, the "triplet" w- african djembe rhythms and solo phrases are written in 12/8, where one beat represents dotted quarter note. 4/4 time code could be misleading in this presented video case, where overall general rhythm feel is actually ternary (triplet).

    Hi
    This was lovely, thank you.
Could you provide notation for the dundun parts too please?

heloo kelvin. the handing in current notation is not easy to see on a phone. The letter L and R are too small. Could you change IT to a color code in future ?

Hi Jorge, thanks for the useful suggestion. If I colour code the handling the whole page may look too complicated as well. Will continue to explore :)
