    I love your videos alot, these help me as a first responder, I came across someone who spoke asl and I was very stumped, these have not only been helping me with basics but more, if you could make more videos that could help first responders communicate the basics, that would be my request. I'm sure it wouldn't only help me

      Hello and thanks for watching! I appreciate you taking the time to learn. A video for flight attendants is a great idea. I have a few signs in mind but is there anything specifically that would be useful? Ticket, seat, food, drink, would you like?, please be seated, etc. Feel free to add to the list!

    • @TheMzDover
      @TheMzDover Рік тому +2

      Yes, we would like to be able to greet them. Ask them to fasten their seatbelt. we offer drinks on board so knowing may I offer you water, coffee, hot tea, beer, wine, juice, and soda. We also have snacks for purchase. We also offer alcoholic beverages. I’d also like to know how to sign if there’s anything that I can do to help them be more comfortable during their flight. I’d like to introduce myself as a flight attendant.
      Thank you so much for replying to my question. I truly appreciate your response and time.

      Thank you for the suggestions. These are all great ideas. I currently have a video for drinks (non alcoholic) ua-cam.com/video/0bWQfNxFuQk/v-deo.html that will show you water, tea, coffee and different types of soda brands. The signs for need and want will prove useful as well. Need ua-cam.com/video/AFciMU-m4H0/v-deo.html Want ua-cam.com/video/S__TNol3TeM/v-deo.html I will work to put all of the above information/suggestions into a video in the coming weeks.

    Am I correct in understanding that the "wh-" word usually goes at the end of questions? Like if I'm asking "Where is dad?", the sign order would be "dad where?"

    • @ASLLOVE
      @ASLLOVE  Рік тому

      You've got it. Most often the "WH" is at the end. The word order in ASL is subject - verb -object (with exceptions of course).

    What would be the sign for "which you should do"? I'm not meaning "which one?" I don't know if that would be the same sign, but the context is not the same. I'm trying to learn how to sign, "which you should always remember". Would the same sign be used ? I hope I wasn't confusing you as to my question.

    • @ASLLOVE
      @ASLLOVE  4 місяці тому

      Hello and thank you for the question. I understand what you are asking. That is what we would say using English. It makes perfect sense that you would want to sign that but - you don't have to. ASL is a language separate from English. While we use a lot of spoken words, it is not the same when signing. I would drop the word "which" and sign MUST - REMEMBER. Depending on the context/conversation there are other possible options. IMPORTANT - REMEMBER, SHOULD - KNOW, SHOULD - REMEMBER are a few.

    for what, is there any reason why there are two variations? is it just a preference or are they used in different context??

    • @ASLLOVE
      @ASLLOVE  10 місяців тому

      That is a great question. I do not know any specific reason (other than regional preferences) why you would choose one over the other but I will say that the palms up version is most commonly used (at least in the Tri-State area). I believe the index-finger option may be less common overall. I show both so that you will recognize it if you ever do come across someone using it.

      Hi and thanks for checking out my channel! Learning the alphabet first is very useful because you will always be able to spell a word if you don’t know a sign (the signs will come). Knowing some basic phrases and responses will also help. I highly recommend practicing without speaking. Keep your voices off and if you are stuck, write it down. As you feel comfortable, practicing with the Deaf community (possibly at a Deaf chat in your area) will help immensely. Here are some beginner signs and phrases to get you started: ua-cam.com/video/j40AJRsmrkY/v-deo.html
