I think the Carlist model of decentralisation would solve many of Spain's issues today. Delegating powers to the traditional regions would curtail separatism. A sense of ethnos would racinate the people in the face of demographic change. A Catholic revival would solve many of the moral failings of modern society. IIRC however, the Carlist line is split between those who believe it's dead, people who loosely follow one of the more distant lines or leftists following the former claimant's leftist politics. Sad!
@@FredomiaIV It shouldn't be. Taken for what they actually stand for, it should be much, much weirder to see carlists (or traditional Catholic monarchists) and you falangists and fascists together. The libertarian ideal is that of anarchy, the end of political power. And an absolute monarch tends to have much less power than democratic or dictatorial rulers. Similarly, a medieval monarchy would be preferable to an absolute one, and an aristocracy or natural order would be even closer to thar libertarian ideal. This is not really the main argument, but I can't be bothered explaining it in any more detail. There are plenty of writings and talks on this topic (Hans-Hermann Hoppe or Miguel Anxo Bastos come to mind). On the other hand, some forms of fascism you guys are so fond of are entirely secular, anti-monarchical and not really all that traditional. The union between the carlists and the falangists was entirely a pragmatic decision by Franco to ensure he had total control over his side of the war. Through this union, the falangists' ideas were essentially neutered over time.
