📑Pssst... You can download my application documents to ETH Zurich here: itsdavidalonso.gumroad.com/ (they got me the Excellence Scholarship and have helped many others!) Good luck to those applying! 🤞
Wow! Your place is amazing. I just submitted yesterday my ETH Zurich application for my masters and I found your pre-proposal scholarship video super helpful 😅 thanks for the content.
Thanks Esteban! The commute to ETH in the center was 20 mins, there was a tram station 1 min walking. In this case that was faster than the bus but slower than the ebike (Publibike)
Thank you for the video! I just got the ESOP for this year and I was wondering whether the option the university gave you was the one you chose? I am looking for a studio but wasn't even sure if that was an option? Thanks for helping!
Congrats!!! Both of you :)) Yes I went for the one that ETH offered me (it was the Casar Ritz building in my case). It might not be the perfect housing but usually it's a great deal for the price and it saves you a ton of hassle and stress in the summer
@@itsdavidalonso Thanks a lot for the help! I was also wondering how did you get your first installment of the scholarship and when? because I believe they said we need to have a Swiss bank account but that takes some time to be done? Thanks again!
Sure! It's quite an old one actually, bought it second hand + clip on shoes for 200 bucks. It's a Gazelle Formula Club Aluminum frame. I used it in my first ever triathlon!
Beautiful place! Would you say all student housing use this expensive? Or is the on-campus housing less expensive available? How much does it cost? What would you say other living costs amount to? Thanks!
Hi Lisa, thanks! I'd say that my rent is on the high-side, but definitely not for what I'm getting. In my first year I lived in a woko room for 540 which is about 200chf cheaper but it was a pretty small room with a bathroom I shared with 4 people and a kitchen with 13 people. I'd say that the other living costs will range from 200-500chf per month. I hope to do a more detailed video on this in the future
Hola David!
COOL DAVID ! WELL EXPLAINED! Hey David , can u please tell me that which language among German, Italian, French is the most used and the best language to communicate and work in Switzerland. which language is used in professional works in offices.... CONGRATS!🥳 I AM UR NEW SUBSCRIBER!🤘😎🤘.. KEEP GROWING BRO!!! LOTS OF SUPPORT FROM INDIA
Hey no name, nice to meet ya! 😂 Thanks for the enthusiastic support, I love it! The language depends on the region in Switzerland. The closer you are to Germany, the more useful German will be and the same thing for Italian and French (just look at the city names and how they change around the border!). In Zurich, German is the most common, but depending on the field (for instance tech) you can get away perfectly fine with English
@@itsdavidalonso thanks david ! for the the information.... BE HAPPY AND SAFE ... I JUST WANT TO SEE A VLOG IN WHICH U HOLD A GOLDEN UTUBE PLAY BUTTON SOON ...(❤❤) please fulfill my wish .😌
Amazing joint you guys have rented there! Just a question... Is noise ever an issue there? I've always wanted to ask that and thought that this is the perfect opportunity because you produce music. I'm a dj and I dabble on production as well so things can get a bit noisy. You have to experiment on your kicks and it's not the most pleasant thing to hear lol. I just heard that there's a quiet time in CH and you cannot produce any noise past 8 pm. How true is this and did you ever have a problem with that? Did you soundproof your room even? :) Again, awesome place you got there and thanks for the clear presentation! Subbed.
Hey there! Thanks for subscribing mate 🤗Noise from the outside is rarely an issue, given that most windows are really well sealed and have double glass. The walls to the outside are also quite thick and made with concrete for winter insulation. I am aware of quiet time but since I'm not a night owl I've never had issues. Usually past 8pm I use headphones. My main concern was mostly making sure that my roommates didn't get disturbed, given that the walls inside the house were much thinner and the doors were not sealed. I never had any conflicts though and can remember at points being pretty loud with singing or music playback.
@@itsdavidalonso Thanks for the reply! I plan to move there for work and am learning Standard German to have an easy access to Swiss-German. Good to know that I could still possibly rock it out because it seems like the place is very friendly for us musicians (with maybe some minimal effort on the soundproofing depending on the structure). It's unlike the US where most of the wallings are on the thinner side 🤭 All the best in your studies and hope you and your roomies find an even better apartment to move into next! 🤗
@@marketeagle4508 It takes a special kind of asshole to play any sound that your neighbours can hear. Either make sure they can't hear anything or don't do it. No one cares about your music. Don't make them listen to it.

Hi David you have a very nice apartment! Is it difficult to get Swiss Citizenship and to live there? I am becoming unhappy with life in America and Switzerland is my favorite country.
Hey William! Thanks, it's not actually my apartment though (I was a subtenant). Getting a residence permit here is quite easy if you are an EU national. If you're not you can either come study here or find a job and get a residence permit that way

Hi David! Glad I came across your vlog. I'll be relocating to Zurich in August and looking for apartment rent. Any websites you can recommend? Thanks!
Hi Diana! Look for eth housing, woko, flatfox, citypop you should find plenty of options:) good luck!
