As a Schwab account holder, I am transferring to Fidelity. Schwab has no sweep account. They give a paltry 0.5% vs Fidelity 5% ish in settlement account. Also there is a one week lag after a Treasury is sold before one can reinvest. Not so with Fidelity. Losing money with Schwab.
That was my conclusion as well. Fidelity seems preferable to Schwab for exactly the reasons you state. Fidelity also has a robust "autoroll" feature, where as Schwab's autoroll is limited to short term bills.
I agree. I love Schwab but not for T-bills. Also, Fidelity has a much easier way to open an HSA account.
Schwab is evil. They took 1 year to even transfer my ameritrade account to schwab. And this was no choice. Because of their merger I was forced to move to Schwab. Really slow company.
So, I'm spending $5,033 for a bond that's going to give me $5,000 at maturity? Why would I want to do that?
As I understand , you can not place a limit order, only market orders??
That's on auction orders. On the secondary market you know exactly what your return will be, though he did not point that out.

The real question is why cant Schwab just auto sweep?
Shifting my funds from Schwab to Fidelity, for this and other reasons.
@@SallySamsara Didn't fidelity stop the cash sweep accounts too? Thought Vanguard was the only of the big 3 that do this still. I have my E fund there.
