Because they are murder machines and will eat your face off if they have no fear of man. Go pet a polar bear and find out just how unafraid they are of humans because they are not hunted. Humans are also an important part of the conservation effort, and without responsible hunters, you would already be eaten by a predator or would have some funky disease from an imbalance in nature that causes strange diseases among wildlife.
