How nice to have such a lovely memory of your Dad taking you to have such a wonderful experience. If he's still with you, remind him of what an impact that had on you and how much your cherish those moments. Steppenwolf and Easy Rider - forever.
By all means, play that six string. You're only as young as you feel. Seen them myself and got a signed album by John Kay. Cool dude and such a legendary group.
I seen him back in mid 80’s not the original band at a place called the joint in the woods in Florida . I wished I was born earlier to see him live in his beginning of steppinwolf. He is such an amazing musician and great character.

Met John Kay at a show in Louisiana in the late 80s. Nicest guy you could ever meet. Very modest and humble. A good dude 😎. Grew up on this great music 🎶.
Saw them in 1971, 1996, and 2003. Each show special. John Kay is a lyrical genius. Good musicians each of them. They did their retirement with class and dignity, not trying to go out and milk money after their announced end date. Thanks for all the great music!
John Kay is a good man and a great rocker. Smart as a whip and he’s got swagger, too. He didn’t get destroyed by drugs and Alchohol like so many others did. He avoided those traps and pitfalls. This song is about Pushers who don’t care what they’re pushing is killing people. Good song. I’m glad Kay’s alive and enjoying his life and still making music. Ted Nugent too! He knew Hendrix who laughed at him when he wouldn’t take drugs. Well, Hendrix has been in his grave for the past 53 years while Nugent is still playing and living. And hunting Wild Game. He’s healthy and eat meat injected with Growth Hormones like you and I do. He didn’t get poisoned like us.
Monster was the very first album I bought. Saw them several times thru the 70's at large concert venues. The last time I saw Steppenwolf was in early 80's when they played a free concert (You had to win tickets to get in.) at a small 500-person club, Toad's Place in New Haven, CT. 10 feet from the band. I meet the entire band outside their dressing room as they entered the club. John K asked me what my favorite song of theirs was. Snowblind Friend (For personal reasons.) They started off their second set, dedicating Snowblind Friend to a longtime fan in the audience. My wife thought I was going to have a heart attack. I was out of my mind with glee. I would have loved to be at this concert.
Ironically these guys sounded the best trippin, true psychedelic rock produced during a time of awakening that will never be surpassed in its wonder. Thank you Steppenwolf for many many hours of listening to your music. I hope there is a rock and roll heaven where we will all meet again.
Saw Steppenwolf in 68-69 and they were good... saw them again at the Belly Up in Solana Beach, CA in 1998. OMG! Small reveue... 10 feet away... they were 10x better then 1968-69! So loud I couldn't hear for a full day. 71 now and still listen to them!
I was 24 when I travelled through the UK with my ghetto blaster. I was sleeping in a round a bout when the bobbies told me to go. I made my way towards Gatwick airport down this country road with this song playing at three in the morning. The cows were impressed.
When I 1st heard & then purchased Steppenwolf album w/Wolf on it back in 60s , I played that whole album over and over many times then it grew legs and went for a walk. 🤬🤬🤬
Saw this great group in OKC Oklahoma back long time ago. They put on a great concert. Guess Who opened. They were PDG but Steppenwolf turned it up a few notches. Great band.
Saw them at the Hollywood Bowl back in 69. The Chambers Brothers opened then Stepenwolf. The Doors closed the show, was anyone else there? Fantastic concert...
Wow, The DOORS is the one show I would see if I coyuld go back and see any show. Sadly, I was born in 72' so never got the chance, yet.....come on time travel.
I was 11 years old when my older sisters brought home albums from Steppenwolf, Cream, Zeppelin, Hendrix, and the Temptations cloud nine. Some of the best stuff ever put out.
Steppenwolf is one of the most underrated bands! "Monster" should be played for every young person alive, as it's more pertinent today than it was when it came out. They embodied the idea that music can reveal social truths as well as entertain.
Thank you Thank you Thank you!!! A Band that finely gives credit to the members that makes it all happen for the band!!!!! Right on!!!!! So many times I have run Sound FOH with out one word of thanks from the bands I have worked with! My hats off to you for doing this!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wish more bands would!!!!
This was really emotional, listening to John introduce and recognize his crew. Great camera work, clear picture, just wish it would've shown more at the end when they left the stage one last time.
To continue. When I and a friend walked into the bar they had just finished a set. I yelled out play the pusher,I was drunk. John Kay yelled back, you should have walked in 15 seconds ago, we just finished it! We sat at thier table by the side of the stage and had beer's put on their tab all night. The final song was dedicated to me, you guessed it The Pusher. It blew me away. It just goes to show that even though they are a famous band, and musician's, they can also be kind and hold normal conversations. It meant alot to me just to have them notice me.

I agree, it's kind of neat to see older videos and how they looked back in the day.
