When i was young and start my professional career during the magic 80's at Mc Cann-Erickson Milano (the #1 Advertising Agency in Italy and in the world!)...this ad was my dream...and it's still a #1 ad nowadays!!!Martini and Mc Cann-Erickson make the difference ;-) !
Enjoy this memorable piece of Advertising....from the 70's !
"Truth Well Told"!
In the 70s I used to look out of my window over a rain sodden Huddersfield and my goodness did I want to live in a Martini advert.
I found this Martini complitation while at work on a nightshift at a NHS hospital, while looking through UA-cam, The Sun had just risen a beautiful morning and the martini ads took me right back as i closed my eyes and face the warmth of the rising sun and it just hit the spot for me, wished i could go back to a better time and place, it made me happy and sad to hear these. I was that inspired I bought a vintage 1970s bottle of Martini (not cheap) and managed to find a original Martini drinks tray and vintage glasses, that you can see on some of the adverts, and set it up on my cabinett it looks great very very pleased with the effect it gives me.
Advertising is clever, the thought that by drinking this will transport you to glamorous locations full of beautiful people when in reality you would be chugging it back down the rose and crown with a group of your mates, I remember these adverts well back in the day I was mesmerised by them.
Reminiscent of my childhood days!
Glad I found this. A friend gave me a bottle of vermouth this week and it made me think of these commercials ..especially the tune. In all the craziness going on these days it takes me back to much happier times. Lovely..thanks!
The good old days , when you could walk in a downtown city , with your women , without tripping over or being bothered by a homeless person .
Whoever wrote that little jingle deserved a good percentage of the profits. I used to drink Vermouth a lot in the 80s and 90s, but I think I had to put it in the freezer for about 4 hours before drinking it. It's amazing freezing cold, and disgusting at room temperature. I preferred Bianco, but Rosso was also really nice. Never thought much of the pink one or the extra dry. When in the mood for a dry vermouth, you can't beat Noilly Prat.
Classy commercials, I remember them all so very well , just beautifully done and many of them to be honest were quite uplifting to watch.
High end commercials
Brings back a few happy memories hearing that tune again. Always buy a few bottles of Martini every Christmas, and that tune always jingles in my head when I have a drink of it :)
The simple aspirational optimism and almost impossible glamour of these adverts had a profound effect on me as a boy.
Martini are the best adverts of the 70's . The music, the feel good factor. Just takes me away. I still love Martini today.
Yes ! The life I wanted , if only had more money and more of a lot of things.
Beautiful Adverts with Beautiful People in I was A very young Teenager in the early 70s a very Exciting time for A Young Girl Miss those Days X
Onde of the best commercials from 70's.
