    What's not shown here between 3:32 and 3:35 is the two hours of him cursing and struggling trying to get it in. Notice how dirty it is afterwards and how he lost the tape off his glove. I'm pretty sure that engine is covered in his tears.

      +Brian Muller sounds like you have installed one or two inlet houses haha. i installed mine when the manifold was off took like 2 minutes =)

    OMG Night mare is an understatement!!! After 3 hours of blood sweat and tears and skinned knuckles i had to take a break, assess life, and go to sleep. upon waking up i invested another 3 hours finagling the inlet over the turbo...Finally at the final stretch my full length CAI was too long... I ended up having to cut like 4 inches off the inlet to make it line up correctly to the intake. all in all i would not suggest this to someone not very automotive inclined. The Guy in the video makes it look like easy peazy clockwork. For the record i love the sound the engine makes with it installed, and dont regret buying and installing it, and no more boost leaks for the win!

    I’m on hour 2 struggling with getting it on to the turbo FAK!!! Lol

    I like how you conveniently skipped the 1hr+ required to stick in the inlet below the manifold. Connecting to the turbo wasn't anywhere near as easy, the hose is very stiff. I unbolted the turbo and slipped it inside the inlet. It also helps to remove the power steering lines and cut off the metal stub from the manifold that used to hold the stock inlet. You are also not showing the dummy sensor that has to be removed from the PCV line next to the turbo. Also its hard to fit the stock post-maf hose on the new inlet. aftermarket hose is better.

    My OEM inlet is no good anymore. I was given a Mishimito Inlet like this one. Question, with this installed. Will my 2005 WRX STI pass smog? I’m from the state of California. Thank you for your time.

    Why isn't the connection on the back side of the intake closest to the turbocharger I believe there is a check valve an sensor back there that I cannot seem to believe there is space nor room to make that work and the fitting provided does not fit that (plastic female fitting) sensor/check valve there? What's the solution?

    • @mishimoto
      @mishimoto  3 роки тому +1

      This sensor is not found on all models and most of the aftermarket induction hoses will delete this sensor. The sensor can simply be plugged in and set to the side.

      @@mishimoto Thank you clarity is serenity most the time so I appreciate you time! That does make sense an helps many of us modderz out here! 🙌 I cut that and am running the stock sensor as needed till I decide to buy the next stage for stage 3 but I was hung up on this issue for a HOT MINUTE! 🙌

    3:32 to 3:36 is the key step, how do you get the first elbow past the intake and AC lines? This video kind of skips this stage of the install.....would be nice to see how the whole induction hose is slipped down.

    • @MrSupergee
      @MrSupergee 9 років тому

    Will this process work on Legacy GT? I just bought the Mishimoto induction hose for my car.

  • @walterbrehm7347

    problem is that on a 02 motor the hoses are brittle and will break . these motors will cause gas leaks from drying out fuel lines that couple fuel rails this is know to cause engine fires.also when trying to remove or install induction hose hoses will not come off as easy as video shows.

    when connecting the ancillary connections to the new mishimoto induction hose do you need any clamps or rings??

    It was not this easy lol. Without taking off the intake manifold, it was one tight fit. Took me a little over 3 hrs to install. Silicone held up well though after taking a beating. Nipples don't line up perfectly with the vacuum lines, but they bend very easily. Overall good product.

    The STi will have a PCV electric connection the WRX does not have. It would be nice to see this installed on an STi and a stock air box.

    Accidentally bought the 2001-2007 inlet, will it work for the 2008 wrx?

    • @mishimoto
      @mishimoto  5 років тому

      Unfortunately, the 2008-2015 models require a couple extra ports on the hose causing the part you picked up not to work.

    The fittings didn't come in my induction hose box. 2007 STi. Mishimoto won't respond, rallysport direct is offering no help, and now I have to find the exact sizes of the fittings. Can anyone tell me so I can buy them somewhere else?

    Im kind of baffled how this video does not show how much of a pain in the ass it is to make this fit and the fact that everything is such a tight fit and makes it nearly impossible for everything else to fit. Mine wont even connect to the turbo and the bpv hose port isnt nearly far enough to fit. I am at the point where im just gonna give up cause no one else seems to know either

    • @jaysonwulf6077
      @jaysonwulf6077 9 років тому +1

      I just did mine and it was a massive pain in the ass. If you pull your power steering pump you will be able to clear the path way enough to fit it in. Mine is scared to hell not 5 ply anymore maybe 3-4 with all the material that is tattered now. Also you can't connect the stock pcv valve sensor you have to pull it then just use the tube and let the sensor hang. Hope there is no cel light don't know yet. Lastly the after maf hose on the car will not fit the inlet correctly it is to large so you will need a coupler or you need to buy a silicon after maf hose. Not oem compatible like they claim on their website. And there is no going back to stock after cause you have to destroy your factory inlet.

    • @mishimoto

  • @LEO-qw7xi

    • @mishimoto

      You are welcome to save the OEM component by removing the entire intake manifold but for ease of installation, we recommend cutting the ports off.
