Just picked up a 107 Sport Xs as a daily run about, fantastic little car
Hi everyone, I just found this channel and really like it. I am from Germany and drive a 107 from 2009 that I bought new from the dealer and put on over 150tkm until now.
I am about to renew about everything on it, since I begin to feel the wear and love it so much I want to continue driving it for a long time.
I have a garage full of new parts, including an entire engine with all auxillaries on it, complete suspension, brakes, breaklines, the whole shazam, exept a new gearbox, that'll stay for now.
I you Cyd or anyone else here wants me to take a look at anything in particular when changing or working on it feel free to tell me and I'll gladly report. I can also provide pictures or short video footage if usefull.

Hi Cyd: the steering wheel is adjustable when the car is equipped with power steering. Mine doesn’t have anything (but fancy 4 doors). So I have to steer without height adjustment. But that’s OK; I love her anyway… Thanks for the video and the nice overview. Cheers - Martin
So, there are non power steering models? I thought it was 100% standard fit
Only standard on the 107 and Aygo, but that explained the slightly lower baseprice of the C1.

What an interesting tiny car.
Small cars are a 'thing' in Japan. I think they are called Kei Cars. I'm don't know if the C1/107/Aygo falls into that category, but it must be close.
They have a near cult following in the UK and Europe. The bottom line: great first cars for new drivers, or getting to work in the city if that's all you need a car for. Light on fuel, tyres and brakes and as such cheap as chips to run. Cheap on insurance and reliable as sin.
We've had ours 10 years since it was 2 1/2 with just 5000 miles (now 13yrs with [soon] 100k).
Ours still has it's original factory fit battery.
@@CycloneCyd That's fantastic. Toyota makes a robust vehicle, probably more reliable with lower cost of ownership than many others.
With your 8mm, 10, 12, 14 and 17mm (and whatever lug nut size), you can practically completely disassemble a Toyota. I always loved that about them here in the states.

Hi Syd I try to do small things on my car a Citreon C1. 2013 if I can .My problem is t, the black plastic roof trim , or gutter moulding ,, is coming away , dint what to do or where to buy replacement . I have seen a few on Google ..but confused to which one and how to do it .Always watch your videos .so helpful . Could you advise please. I would be so great full. Thankyou Patricia.
Does the c1 come with a chain drive or do they run with a cam belt. Also what are these cars like comfort wise inc road noise on long journeys ie a couple to three hours. As i'm thinking of buying one soon

They are great econobox cars. Also for the second hand market. It's a good car for beginners. I passed these because I did not like the road noise on the highway and the wind getting in. Also It failed my suitcase test. And lastly they don't have side curtain airbags. Which is a big deal for me because I have an hearing implant. So I went for a 2014 Fiat Panda.
Yeah, rather noisy on the motorway. Doesn't seem to bother my wife though. It would bother me. We're taking my son to Heathrow tomorrow, so I'll be insisting we go in the Saab. Never mind the fuel!
I bet it would not be extremely difficult or expensive to add road noise killing sound deadener in such a tiny car

@@CycloneCyd I can't wait to see that one. I want to do it to my pickup. I see so many putting it in their doors, but I think most road noise is coming right up through the floor, esp where we put our feet. I do not know, and perhaps I'll learn something from you and follow your steps.
@@troy3456789 what I meant was that I'll be using the same methodology on the C1, not doing another video (I'd be repeating myself). So watch the video linked above and follow the methodology.
I was a little OTT on the wheelarch in that video, but on the plus side, the car is much much quieter in the rear now! If you're gonna go OTT anywhere though, the wheelarches are it.

Great video! I have a under-seat subwoofer but I have some trouble with getting the cable to the battery. There's a rubber grommet in the firewall I would like to use but it's very hard to reach and none of my tools can get there. Do you have any tips?
How about going out through the RH handbrake cable grommet under the rear end of the centre console? Then tie wrap it to one of the brake pipes feeding the rear to bring it into the bonnet area?

CycloneCyd: advice to solve issue on my C1 car has 83 000 km. I clean MAP and PCV wasn’t much dirty! Replace up O2 sensor (Bosh) periodically light on check engine on dasboard: error code is P0171 B1 poor mixture (too lean) and what is C3 100?

AFAIK it get it from a WSS. This started to become common in the late 90s and was pretty much de-rigeur by mid noughties.

Not really specific to city bugs, but do you have a recommendation for the best way / product to clean the seats? I want to give my city bug a kind of valet, but looking at shop site reviews just seems to make me go round in circles for what to use!
Hire a Rug Doctor and make sure to get the stair tool. Also buy a Traffic Lane Cleaner spray and spray the base of the seats with it first (and the carpets).
Consider removing the front seats so you can get at the whole carpet unrestricted.
Once you've done the seats and carpets with cleaning solution, go over them again with plain water only.
If you have mats, try a jet wash! Yes, really.

hello, i own a 107 and my sister is going to buy an aygo. a friend of mine own also an 107.
but all of them has wobling gear shifter, is there a way to uprade or fix this woobling? just want a crispgear shifter.
The gearbox from the face lift model is way better, from 2012

It's probably down to Toyota updating the engine specifications with Castrol as they still use the engine, whereas PSA do not now the C1/108 is out of production
I would stick to a 5w30 C3 as Toyota may have made mods to the engine not known by or featured in PSA variants
