I don't know about “willingly”. I think someone only has to say “your name is such and such” or whatnot because Gabiru was able to be renamed the same name by Rimuru even though he not only had no intention of naming him but also didn't want to at all either.

I think they are its jsut that demon peer vary hugely in strength. Generally they are as strong or stronger than a demon lord seed but the primordials as demon peers have powers easily exceeding even most awakened demon lords. At least awakened demon lords without ultimate skills are going to have a hard time against a primordial at even the arch demon stage. Like they are way overpowered if we are being honest.

Its first written story of that time i got reincarnated as a slime just by auther himself. It's story not cannon for anime and manga as they adapted from LN not WN. WN has chapters LN has volumes.
