- The plaintiff has been friends with the defendant for several years. The defendant asked the plaintiff to cash checks for her because she didn’t have a bank account. However, after the plaintiff cashed them, she found out the checks were counterfeit, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant doesn’t believe she is responsible for giving fraudulent checks because she was a victim of a scam.

I used to get those mystery shopper checks all the time in the mail and trash them. She knew it was a scam. Who sends you a check up front and you have did no work. Plantiff knew she had not been to no stores shopping 😂😂

Secret shopping is a very real job my mom does it but they definitely not paying out no damn $2k they pay like $5-$50 for whatever it is. But you don’t get paid til you do the shop and write up the review and then you get paid like a week after that
Very toxic friendship, just stay away from each other, and if a check is not yours do not catch it for anyone.
I'm still trying to figure out how could she legally cash her friend's check. In order to cash a check, you'll need proof of identification, so how did she do it? The plaintiff probably knew it was fraudulent and went with it.
@@CeCe-yo3el You simply write pay to the order of the someone with the bank account. They sign and deposit it. The person with the bank account assumes the risks and losses involved. I've done that for friends and relatives who didn't have bank accounts. However, I make sure that the check is legitimate first. That's also simple to do.

I don’t know how people fell for those scams. What made it worse, often times, they would then scam their friends and family to cash those “mystery shopper checks”
I ain't never seen nobody doing mystery shop and making that type of money normally those pay out like 35$

More than likely when you don't have a bank account it's bc you're flagged due to bad checks in the past, or you owe the bank money due to overdraft fees. Either way, i would never cash someone else's check. They'll either open one the day of, or go to a check cashing place. Don't ask me to use my account for shit

The defendant is telling a lie she know for sure that those are fake and she was trying to get money. She did not have no job at all and she do not wanna see her get better because she didn’t apologize.

Im sorry but this sounds like a 3rd party crime to me. I always thought in these situations you can sue the company or thr person that send you the money orders not her friend. To me this is no different than someone hacking your bank account and there is more than one person on it how van you sue anyone besides the hacker? I know im playing devils advocate here but it seemed like a third person was involved.

I just don't run into a lot of people like either of the litigants. I have better communication with people who don't speak English and I don't speak their language. I get better answers from people who really are trying to lie or scam.
