I will always want heated mirrors in all of my future vehicles.
You gotta love that seated heat.
So good!! 😉
This is the best series of its type I have seen on UA-cam. Perfect blend of information, design, and humor. I can't believe the speed of your build either. Great job and thank you.
Thank you so much Andrew! We are doing our best to share it all, the good the bad and the funny... 😂
Out of all the DIY camper conversions I’ve seen, by far you have done an excellent professional job! I love watching your videos.
Thank you so much Lela!
I love the under-dog storage. Great idea. Seater-heaters are totally awesome. I s few family members that would LOVE those installed in out vehicles. Thanks for sharing
An easy way to get seat covers on any seat is to cover them with a garbage bag first. Then slide the seat cover over the garbage bag. After the seat cover is on, then pull the garbage bag until it rips and remove it.
That is an excellent tip!
yalls craftsmanship is inspiring and awesome. Hope to see yall out there!
Thank you Paul!
As far as safe traveling for the doggoes, perhaps a vertical web safety net in case you brake hard. 👍
That is an excellent idea!
So this build has to be one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a while! The two of you have some excellent taste and attention to detail. Can y’all do a video giving an idea on the cost? I’m loving it!
Thank you so much! We will definitely be doing a cost breakdown video soon.
Seems like the pass through will now be pretty awkward for the humans to get through with that front wall being so high...but hopefully you'll never need to use it. That said, THIS BUILD WAS COMPLETELY OUT OF THIS WORLD AWESOME!!!
For anyone doing this in the future, it's much easier to get the headrest covers on by slipping some thin plastic (like for masking when you paint) over the headrest first. It's also generally easier with it fully removed from the seat. I used to work in an upholstery shop years ago and that's how we did it.
The plastic trick also works for going onto the seatback too.
That is an excellent tip!
Hope & pray you both are doing well today .
Heated seats will be a game changer! Just make sure you're not running them too much without the engine running. Most cars with them stock won't turn them on without it due to the high current draw. Did you guys put a deep cycle batter on the truck when you started the retrofit? This is so fun to watch!
Luckily we can always jump the truck with the campers batteries if need be. The truck battery is old and we will be upgrading it when we have a chance!
Really enjoyed watching you build this excellent camper. Your construction techniques are so professional. You both will be very popular out there in the camping world when humans you meet find out you built the entire shell yourself. Happy trails.
Thank you so much! We have already run into so many people who have watched the series, it is crazy!
What an incredible build. I have really enjoyed watching this series and I appreciate the fact that you took the time to be so meticulous in your work. Everything looks professionally done.
Thank you Mark! It has been a challenging and very rewarding build and we are very excited to hit the road!
Good job guys.
Thanks John!
Build is looking fantastic!! I’ve had Clazzio’s in my truck for about 3 years. Holding up awesome, wouldn’t hesitate buying again.
That is great to hear we should be happy with them in the long run!
Love the teamwork
Thanks Alvin!
some people have put a garbage bag on the seat first to help it slide.
That is a great idea!
difficult to express the amount of jelly :D
Thanks for following along on the build!
Omg as someone who’s wants their dog to have a dedicated space in the build I can’t wait for this next video !
It has been awesome so far!
love your content
Thanks for watching!! 🙌🏻
Okay I just have to say I watch from the beginning of this build and I have seen other build but definitely not as awesome as this one also the editing that went into this and the time that went into that project was so awesome I loved how you guys walked through the process of what you guys where doing and also the different episodes it was so awesome and so inspiring I definitely wanna build something like this one day and you guys have inspired me. You guys are awesome keep up the great videos I have a UA-cam channel and I know how much time goes into something like this and you guys have done awesome keep it up definitely am subscribing!!!
Hey Kaiden! Thanks so much for watching our series. It certainly is a lot of work but it so rewarding to share this project with you all! 👊🏻
This is one one the best builds ever, thoroughly enjoyed your series and regular uploads!! and I look forward to seeing the adventures!
PS. Can you do a completed vehicle video? 😉
Thank you so much Ben! We really appreciate you following along on the build series. We will definitely be doing a completed rig tour once we have gotten settled!
THIS. IS. SO. COOL!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you!!
@@AmbitionStrikes Your welcome!! Keep up the great work!!
Dog centric projects are the best! And as always really enjoy seeing you two work, thanks for another great vid! 🏆
I'm pretty sure the whole reason we built a camper in the first place is for the dogs... 😂
Seat covers, bun warmers, a dog platform and extra storage, oh my! Great work guys.
Love the dual ratchet, Riley. And, yes, a power probe is indispensable!
We must be done with the bulk of the build if we are able to focus on creature comforts... 😉
@@AmbitionStrikes Agreed. The bun warmers are a fantastic addition. As usual, the execution was top notch.
My German Shepherd would die for that! Cool to see it "floating" like that. Ive never seen that before. Nice work you two!
The dogs LOVE it so far! The storage underneath is insane. We are able to fit our mountain bike tires, tools and a guitar!
Good for your hands, everything is very nice, the seat of your housemates is great.
Thank you!
Thanks for the Boone action!
😉
Yesssss heated seats, great for a Canadian winter. And the dog bed is amazing. Our little Siberian Husky would love that. ❤️🇨🇦❤️ Cheers!!!
Now that I know I can easily add them to any vehicle I won't have to be so picky when shopping for vehicles in the future 😂
Love it!! Toasty butts!! You should work some heaters into the dog bed too. That way they could sleep there all the time!
Now that would be next level!
You just gave me a great idea for my truck! A boss that I had back in the 70's use to say "you learn something new every day" well your just kids but I'm learning from you! thanks for the show.
I'm glad we could plant a new idea for you! Thanks for watching and following along!
Yalls Dogs are awesome! They look like some characters! I feel your pain on installing the seat covers, but it looks like yall got a great brand. They look very factory. Great job on the seat heater install, looks factory! Thanks for showing that dual ratchet, Im definitely getting one for my truck!
They are SO excited for an indefinite trip. We are very impressed with the seat covers so far, especially for the price. The ratchet is definitely a must for anyone to carry in their truck!
So very impressed with your camper. Think you could start a company building these. Pretty sweet!
Thank you! You never know but for now we’re just headed on an epic adventure!
You guys should keep all the templates for everything and like someone mentioned, you can start a company building these commercially.
We have definitely considered it!
Yeh this is ambition truck.
Thank you!
If there seat cover wrinkles bother you, you can take a hair dryer and work the material around to get any creases or wrinkles out. Also, noted no vertical support at the front of the platform, 3/4” or greater wood?
That is a great idea! We had a 72 degree day after install and they evened out very nicely. The platform is ½" but did not require any vertical support at the front. I will make sure to show how we mounted it in a future video.
Heat the road! 😉
😂
I am really impressed By U2
Thanks Bill!
Insane amount of effort and hours, plus filming/uploading/editing. OMG! 🤪 I am blown away by how effectively you've created storage spaces and packed things away. Super impressive. 🍻❄🐕🐕🦺⛷🚵♂️👣
Oh!! Also... on the diesel parking heaters- really wise to carry spare diesel filter and pump. They've been known to go bad occasionally, and delivery takes awhile. They're small and easy to hide away with spare parts. Don't want to be without heat at 12 degrees. Also, you two are just awesome. 👌 Loving your stuff from Fairbanks, Alaska. And contemplating all my own (MUCH reduced) builds, lol!
Your emojis express our priorities quite well.. 😂
That is a great idea and I am going to add it to the shopping cart right now! It was 0 degrees this morning at our camp and the thought of the heater failing is...
great video as always yall
Thanks Brian!
Wrap the dog bed with a heated 12V blanket. The dogs would love it!
Now that is next level! I made sure Boone didn't hear when I read this comment to Riley... 😂
@@AmbitionStrikes Haha
Nice 🐕🐕👍😀🇨🇦
Thank you!!
Well, you know my wishes)))
👍🏻
You guys have some mad skills. Wish I had your garage!!!
Thanks Phil! We've got all of the tools... now we just need a slightly bigger workspace!
Very nice build & nice dog bed :), but i would strongly recommend a safety net between the dogs and the front seats... two 60+ pound dogs accelerating thru your cabin in case of an emergency braking or accident can cause big trouble.
That is a very good safety tip!
YAY its time to go, safe and happy travels
We are SO stoked!!
Make the holes for the seatbelt bukel and the dogs can have there seatbelt to
Yes that is a great idea!
As a weirdo who doesn't care for dogs and cold, I could avoid all the work in this episode. Now I have hope that I could actually do this!
What about a child platform??
@@AmbitionStrikes Needs to be more of a cage.
Put seatbelt to the dogs while you are driving is becoming a law now
You can never be too safe!
항상 잘 보고 있습니다. 한국말로 이시네요~
Thank you!
You guys just have everything. So jealous 😜. Amazing video as usual.
Work hard, play hard!
@@AmbitionStrikes Well said!
Good job the project came out awesome!
Thank you! We are so stoked to hit the road.
I have been following this build from episode 1. I've enjoyed each one, and feel inspired to do the same. I like the way those covers fit. What brand are they?
Thanks for following along Denis! The covers are Clazzio brand!
If u didn't do it next time lay the cover in the sun for a few hrs. Will help w install
That is an excellent tip!
Another great video. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching Shawn!
I have been really enjoying watch your build and really love the result.
Thank you for sharing! Great video...I miss heated seats! Total game changer...Got to love your pets...but it sure can be frustrating when you're trying to get something done and they want to help...😅. Nice to see you both showing the tools and products that you find helpful and like. The Power Probe is an amazing electrical tool for trouble shooting vehicles should have that and others listed with your Amazon links...Keep warm - Waiting to see those snow videos! When's the Live Stream?.. Mark (& Teresa)
Thanks for tip Mark, I just added a link to the power probe! The snow videos are coming VERY soon!!
next time your doing the seat covers heat them with a heat gun as you stretch them over. it loosens the material up.
That is an excellent idea!
You guys never cease to amaze me, you are both so talented! Would you mind sharing where you got the seat covers? I just found the wrench on Amazon and will be here next week. You guys are teaching this old dog many new tricks, thank you.
I'm so glad we were able to share that wrench with you! The seat covers are Clazzio brand and I believe Riley ordered them direct from their website.
Yes I must know the company you purchased your covers from and the heater’s. I need for sure.
The covers are from Clazzio and the seat heater link is in the description for the video! I highly recommend them!!
@@AmbitionStrikes thank you
What material did you choose for you seat covers? You said vinyl, but there are a few options. I like the way yours looks. Thanks for the good content.
Hi Cody! Riley said he ended up just choosing the cheapest option (PVC) and we are super happy with them!
Awesome video and build! What is the brand of the seat covers you installed?
They are from Clazzio. They have been awesome!
Poor doggos didn't get a bed heater... Just kidding, a blanket will suffice.
They sleep on the floor of the camper next to the heater when it is really cold!
have you seen those vids on how rams use the same wiring harnesses regardless if it has that option? guy finds plugs and connectors everywhere and he just plugs in options that he buys to add on. may be connectors already there for seat heaters. except they may need to be oem, and you may need a dash switch. regardless, there are a lot of other options you may want to install!
Yes there are a ton of up fitter options for these trucks! Example: we should be able to add remote start with a very simple plug and play kit! The expense and effort wasn't worth it for the seat heaters though.
@@AmbitionStrikes let me know about remote start kits!! i want one, but have read that some have fried computers. who knows :)
I thought I saw you guys using a foam cutter and was wondering if they make one I take it it's a hot gun and where's the best place to find one. You guys have done an amazing job on this. You're both very talented and it just adds to what you make awesome job guys
We have actually found that an electric turkey carver knife works best for soft foams! When cutting styrofoam we use a hot knife.
seatcovers look great! yea i like vinyl or leather in my house for same reason ;) THAT RACHET! i want one of those. what brand?? and finally... some love for the pups lol their own build/mod, except when you two dump yourselves from rear to front hahaha :)
I tried to find the ratchet online and I can't! We purchased it at our local Tractor Supply a few years ago... The dogs are loving their platform so far!
@@AmbitionStrikes ill check tsc... was just there today ;)
@@d-arts7139 Someone found it on Amazon!
www.amazon.com/MacWork-8in-Dual-Function-Telescopic-Extendable/dp/B07CW8ZJ9K
@@AmbitionStrikes sweet! thanks!
Love the build and vids, but I keep waiting for new wheels and tires in every episode to complete the look! lol
It's coming... 😉
@@AmbitionStrikes Awesome!
Great video. What is the name of the seat covers? Does the dog hair stick?
The seat covers are from Clazzio and they are amazing! The dog hair does not stick at all and they are very easy to clean!
I like the floating dog platform, I have an F450 and still using the cooler on the floor to help hold up the dog bed on the forward edge.... how did the strut or truss look to support the dog weight on the forward edge? Nice work again. I really enjoy watching you two never fight.. :/
The back of the platform bolts into the carseat mounting holes and then just as feet on the sides, so it cantilevers out quite a bit. It is plenty sturdy and allows for large bulky items to easily be slid in and out!
How I want such a house! 🏠 🛻
It has been amazing! 🙌🏻
You two are really doing a fantastic job on this build! When you are done do you need my address to ship it to me?
😂
Thank you! We can deliver for an additional fee... 😉
Boone and Bailey, are " Spoiled yes i would be Waggan my Tail too, if I had one!!? Do you want to go for a Drive? Dean
I'm pretty sure we built the camper for them... 😂
What year is your Ram that the rear seat wasn’t split approx 70/30?
My 2009 has the split, and it is very handy.
Also I noticed the floor shifter. I’m JEALOUS of the manual shifter!
Btw, the whole build series is entertaining, plus loved the build tips!
Ours is 2015... some packages came with the split but ours is a Tradesman and did not. We looked into ordering it from the dealership and it was going to be $5,000 for just the 30 part!
The trucks previous owner special ordered it with the floor shifter (it had a Lance in it and was for chasing the powder) and we are super stoked about it!
So my wife of 40+ yrs wanted to know why I've been so impressed with you two. Showed her a 500k Earth Roamer last night. She agrees now and is equally impressed with you too!!!
Where can I find that ugly socket hammer extendable combo?
Hey if we pass the wife test that is a huge compliment! Form AND function...
I tried to find it online and can't... we purchased it at our local Tractor Supply!
Looks like MacWork Dual Head Ratchet on Amazon.
Enjoying the build, great detail, curious about approx cost. Looking forward to seeing it used!
@@RobertBrown-vm9gu Thanks so much for finding that product!! We will be doing a cost video very soon...
I have such a man crush on your husband. He can do anything. Oh, and my wife feels the same way about you. Lol 😂
We'll have to go on a double date someday! 😂
Where did you buy the seat covers from? They look great.
They are Clazzio brand and we purchased direct from them!
Love it! Where did you get that ratchet?
I found it on Amazon. Search for "MacWork 1/2in.& 3/8in Dual Head Ratchet Handle -Telescopic Black Ratchet Handle with Hammer Function"
I tried to find it online and can't... we purchased it at our local Tractor Supply!
Will you add a reversing camera?
Yes we plan to add a reverse camera soon!
seat covers???? saw other things listed.. thxz
They are from Clazzio and we love them!
@@AmbitionStrikes thanks finally found their website!
Just out of curiosity how much is the new camper and what kind of cost have yall invested.
We are going to do a coat breakdown video once the camper is completely done!
And the weight
Where did you get the seat covers? I previously ordered some for my truck and they were a horrible fit. Looking for better ones. Loving the build.
The brand is Clazzio! We are very happy with them so far, especially for the price.
Just out of curiosity how do your dogs climb up onto the floating platform? Is it simply a bed from the camper and they always go through the cab window? Otherwise it looks like a pretty big jump from the ground through the truck door.
If we load them up through the truck door we lift them up and in. They can make the jump, but we don't want them to (hard on hips). 99% of the time they get there through the camper pass through.
They always access the truck from the camper. I agree that is much too high of a jump for them to do often!
Are you worried at all about dog safety in case of a crash?
Yes that is always a concern. We do our best to not put ourselves in dangerous driving situations and be as cautious as possible.
Do you know the voltage range for the seat heaters? And also how many watts they use?
According to the product description, they should be 18 watts on low and 54 watts on high. I'm not sure what the voltage range is, but they are intended for 12V application. -Riley
Can you link the seat covers? I have the same truck but can't find the covers in all grey like yours. Thank you.
www.clazzio.com
You can use the code trailtestedmfg for a 10% discount on orders over $600!
Where did you get they covers from and did the seat warms come with them?
The covers are from Clazzio and the warmers are from Amazon! (Link is in the description of the video!)
Thank you I found the covers on the website still looking for the warms but if there on the site I’ll find them. I sure would like to see a full walk around of your camper when all finished I’m just amazed of the job you’ll have done.
@@timdavis7739 The seat covers we purchased were from Amazon but I think clazzio also sells warmers!
Hello....any more information on the seat covers?
They are from Clazzio and we ordered directly from their website!
What brand were those seat covers (nevermind found another comment)
Clazzio! We are very impressed with the quality, especially for the price!
what is the name of the seat covers and where did you get them???
They are from Klazzio!
What model are the seat covers?
Thanks!!
They are from Klazzio!
👍🏼👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼🐕💕🐕💕
🙌🏻
Two thumbs down from Boone and (??): no heaters installed in the new dog loft! ;-)
They sleep in the camper when it is cold, the truck is too poorly insulated to warrant trying to heat it!
@@AmbitionStrikes Boone is not convinced! You two have nice warm butts when driving down the road, but if they want to sit in their loft while driving... no warm butts for them! :-)
Where did you get the vinyl seat cover??
They are from Clazzio!
Do you have a toilette inside?
Yes we do!
Seriously...No heated seats (platform) for the dogs? 🐕🦺
😂
Do you have a link for the ratchet? I really like that.
I tried to find it online and can't... we purchased it at our local Tractor Supply!
Are you guys still able to use the passthrough in an emergency?
Yup I used it yesterday because I didn't want to walk through the deep snow 😂
@@AmbitionStrikes Good work! I love your vehicle. :)
What’s with the “premiers”?
It allows me to upload the video late at night but still have it air in the morning when my viewers are the most active!
Did you delete the truck?
Nope! We're CA residents and there are very strict emissions regulations here.
