- The nearly two-year wait for more ‘Outlander’ is over! In a new interview, stars Caitríona Balfe and Sam Heughan dish to ‘Extra’ on what to expect for their characters Claire and Jamie in Season 6. Caitríona also opens up about shooting the season while pregnant and reveals which castmates have met her son! ‘Outlander’ Season 6 premieres March 6 on Starz.

I swear, Outlander is the only show/film I've ever watched where the sex scenes make me weep! There are plenty of sex scenes, and nudity, but it somehow never seems vulgar or gratuitous because it fits so seamlessly into the storyline. Sam and Caitriona have some of the best on screen chemistry I've ever seen.

I just started watching this show and finished the last episode last week. I'm so glad I didn't have to wait 2 years. My sister had been begging me to watch this show for a while. I'm so glad I decided to tune in. Great show!

I only started season 1. It’s a wee bit of a struggle due to the women being beaten up and I find it uncomfortable but I’m happy powering through it.

I’ve read all the books two times. I love the story and I think these two do a great job portraying the characters in the books.
I finished episode 1-5 last year (2021 November) and was so emotionally fell in love with Sam and Catriona. I love their scenes all the way from start to end. I'll never get tired of watching Outlander all of my life. Hope they be together in real talk. I haven't seen Episode 6 and overwhelming waiting to watch for it . Can't wait to see Sam and Catriona together! All the best for you guys and take care always!

What a unique time to be working and have your first child. Looking forward to seeing the new season and praying season 7 will be close behind. Their has been very little talk about the future of the series, please forgive me for bringing it up I’m not trying to complain just always happy for more of outlander.

They start shooting S7 very soon. I think March or April. Beyond that, there's been no announcement by Sony for the other seasons. Yet. You know they like to tease fans a lot.

For me, Season 1 was the best in regard to storyline and acting; the other seasons have not been as good. But, they are both good actors and have good chemistry. I actually find Sam Heughan to be the better actor of the two. They seem to have a genuine friendship, and that's very nice to see.
That’s a surprising declaration. In The Battle Joined, Sam is amazing in his after-battle state . He and Cait are on par. Her acting in Faith is equally or maybe more heartbreaking. They’re both displaying their heartbreak and loss so well. 😰👏👏👏👏

I have never cried so much in my life. Every time Jamie or Clair were upset so was l ! I love the movie so much I have ordered the sound track and have watched it twice with more to come! @@Dasani_water_drinker also remember it was a holiday like old hollows eve a night when spirits are allowed to roam the earth...lbelieve Jamie spirit wondered in Inverness for 200 years waiting and looking for her...he knew she would be there... she told him her whole story....he told her he would find her if it meant spending those years in Purgatory...and guess what he did waiting and watching his spirt guided her back ....she just went back to far...she said while she was in the stones she heard loud noises like cannons ..gunfire like a battle and she reached higher..i bet that was Coloudon but by her reaching higher she popped out when her and Jamie did not know each other yet....read that in one of the books I can't remember who she told the story to..it was either Mrs Graham when she returned or Roger...so sorry for the spoiler...sometimes it best to just tell cause fans will go crazy trying to figure it out....and some can get down right nasty when you try to give them logic without the spoilers...have a blessed Easter.

I feel sad as I love Outlander, watched it over and over again, picking out my favourite episodes also. But now it has gone from Amazon and is now with Starz, I won't be able to watch it now. I cannot afford another subscription, everything has gone up so much it is too hard, so couldn't take another subscription. So good luck with this new season I'm sure it will be fantastic as always. Thankyou for previous series, I enjoyed going back in time with such a lovely cast, thankyou.
Perhaps you have a friend with Starz and you could watch together an excuse for a weekly visit and there's not a lot of episodes

With all the claims by yanks of Scottish ancestry there must have been no one left in the Highlands over two hundred years ago, just toonie Scots left to keep the birth rate up.

He is scottish, but not everyone from scotland has a thick brogue. For example, Edinburgh residents don't have much of a brogue at all.
He was born in 1980 in Balmaclellan, Scotland.
@@Arldavis I watched the first 5 seasons last year before watching any interviews. I got so used to hearing Jamie Fraser that hearing his actual voice outside his character sounds odd!
I love Outlander, but was very disappointed with only 8 episodes in season 5. We deserve more episodes each season
Due to both Covid and her pregnancy it’s a shorter season. But season 7 will be 16 episodes
Admit it the show is rubbish and the acting is awful.

You are perfectly in your rights to not like the show or the actors. Those of us who do like the show and the actors are not wrong, though, we are also perfectly in our rights to do so. But even when you don't like the show or the actors don't stoop to bullying and trash-talking and putting people down from the safety of the anonymity of the internet. Be better than that.
There's only 8 episodes in season 6 because the costs to meet the covid requirements for filming were outrageous, and because yes, Caitriona was pregnant, and there's only so much time you have before a belly can no longer be disguised. It isn't as if we've been robbed, either. There's a 90 minute premier for S6, and an extra 4 episodes in Season 7.
I'm grateful it was possible at all.

Acting is hard enough but the sex scenes makes it incredibly tough. One must learn to keep it separate from reality.

I've seen this video three times in a row to better understand their statements. The conclusion: they are excellent actors even when asked about their relationship off screen ! Look at Sam's face when Cait speaks about their relationship off screen...He's rather sad and that makes me wonder why...Which would have been the reason ? Maybe because HE was the one who suffered most after their separation ..Maybe because he felt differently...and he could not say it in front of the camera..He's still keeping it for himself......
What separation? They were never together. How many times do they have to repeat it. She's been with her now husband since the beginning of the show.

Such a ghastly boring dragged out series and I was a fan at first, until it took the piss and the writers had all died. but luckily the 12 year olds stepped in at the last moment and wrote some more stories in crayon. It is not even in Scotland any more the Yanks hijacked it I am just waiting for cornel Custer to make his last stand at Frazers ridge, Of course Jamie will be the sole surviver and Claire will sew his head back on.

1) The literary series this show is based on is written by an American woman, Diana Gabaldon
and 2) The show is still entirely shot in Scotland, and every season becomes an even greater source of employment and career opportunities for Scottish crews?
The yanks didn't hijack anything. Even now in season 6 they're introducing 3 significant characters who are very much Scottish.
The series has only gotten better and better as seasons progress, they've given the actors better chances to give compelling performances, they've developed characters from the ground up, like Marsali and Fergus.
I understand you're too simple-minded and were in just for the steamy scenes from season 1 and 2, but the least you can do is not to talk about what you don't know.

Caitríona Balfe is one of the most attractive females I've ever seen. Furthermore she seems so humble, down to earth and kind, a rarity in these times.
