Thank you so much for mentioning East Quarry. It is underrated and incredibly beautiful. As both a runner and a nature lover, I felt like I was dreaming while running through here. Also, this island has so many other beautiful nature areas, like North Pond, various amazing trails in the northwestern part of the island, “The Cut,” etc.
Years ago, the ferry brought a circus to the island. We powered up the boat and took the grandchildren over to watch the fun. We got to see the elephants help set the tent up and get close to the performers. Nothing like watching the elephant get off the boat in the evening. It's a great destination even though the circus doesn't come by anymore. Thanks for a great video. I miss the islands in Lake Erie.
I have never heard of Kelley’s Island. I watch a lot of UA-cam but I discover the most from your channel. I would go there just drive the golf cart around. Cliff jumping would freak me out. I just heard of sea glass hunting. So much info in this quick video.
Back in the '50s we used to to go to nearby Bay Point Park (privately owned), At that time I was tiold that during the Civil War Confederate POW's were held on Kelly's Island.
