The seatpost feels so long because it was designed for a dropper post. Additionally, the steering feels weird due the the alt bar. The bike was designed for drop bars, so throwing on the Alt's changes the geometry all around.
Nice build! I have a blue Grappler and am 5-11” and bought a large. It fits great and is very comfortable with stock parts. I sat on a medium and could feel that everything felt a bit too close but everyone is different. This fall I plan to swap out to 12sp and better brake system.
Thanks, very interesting review. This would be a great touring bike, since it has all the mounts. One complaint about this bike frame I heard, is that it is difficult to mount a rear rack, because the eyelets at the back are in a " special " place. They look like mounts for bottle cages, but who would put bottle cages there? Anyway, a special bike indeed !
I've built my Ghost Grappler with Surly Corner bar. . Almost 2 years of pure fun 👌
Check yeah!
