After having a Crafter and talking with many recovery drivers ( that gives an indication of its reliability) most said ALL have issues 😳. If you search forums those with issues will post for all makes. All makes have many reliable satisfied customers. It's possibly pot luck. Good luck with your quest 👍
I don’t think you can better what you have. We had to have two new exhaust sensors and a new set of glow plugs after we had the dreaded light come up on our Fiat Ducati - it was just out of Fiat warranty so we had to pay out and we were told that we’re not driving it regularly enough to kick out anything in the exhaust (I’m no good at mechanical explanations) so now we just make sure we use it throughout the year and hope that it was just a one off. We love our Moho and got it at a great price compared to what we’d pay for a new one nowadays, even if we factor in the repair costs
We downsized from a 7.4m long Bürstner motorhome to a 6.4m Adria campervan. No regrets whatsoever - the van’s much easier to park, narrower to negotiate restricted lanes and plenty of living space
We went from a 7m coachbuilt to 6m van, 18 months on 19k miles done and love where we can park it 👍🏻 You dont need half the stuff that you take most of the time and plenty of storage in the garage 😉 plus there feel a lot more solid
@@MOHOTELADVENTURES we do love the flexibility of our Burstner a van conversion has no floor space and you would be fed up very quickly with squeezing by each other . As you say get yours fixed and you will be away again & as you know it’s all compromised really and every vehicle has its issues .
You cut your cloth according if you get a van conversion you will lose storage in most of them. You just learn what's important to take. The Trekker is a beast of a van. I prefer a van conversion as you can bring the outside in as I have 2 sliding doors and a big back door that's open. In a coach built I feel like you are either in or out. It really is down to what you like as most of them will be functional if you adapt how you live in them. My dad had both and his preference is van conversion for him. Once you get it fixed sometimes it's better the devil you know sometimes.
It’s swings and roundabouts . Every camper or MH has its problems . You know the drill Jof layout layout layout . To be honest there are 1000s of fiats on the road , you have just been unlucky . It’s a machine …. It can and will be fixed . I get the loss of confidence but you know your van . Even buying a brand new van you could be buying more stress and trouble ! I would fix yours and give it another go . I have a fiat it’s been great . A good friend of mine has a Merc ……now that has been nothing but trouble . It’s luck of the draw mate .
What we found when looking was too narrow (very hippy) and alot of one out of way so other can get through. Storage no garage not enough storage. One we did like was a solaris xl built in Yorkshire were bunked (I think) so could fold out of way but again no garage 😮😮
Go for it,nicer drive, less rattling, less chance of leaking, easier to park, have a look at an end lounge, yes you have to make a bed but somewhere nice to relax if you’re inside, it’s all a compromise, have a look at the Hillside Hopton they have there ✅
Hi Jof. A van conversion is less space for similar money. You would probably feel very clastrafobic.Have a look at the Swift Voyager 594 or 584 automatic. Both are 7.8mtr long with a very large 2 door garage. Good luck. Clive.
Thompsons old Renaults, its just a new part Jof.dont risk it yours is immaculate look at all you have done to it and the way you both nertcher it .Steady!!!
Jof, you've said it yourself - your Burstner at under 7m is night & day in comparison to any PVC. Get the ECU sorted and you'll be right for years to come - they all need servicing / cambelts / tyres / batteries and (one day) they'll all breakdown !! Its a risk we all carry with our favourite past time - we have a good breakdown policy & a relaxed attitude to what will be will be 🙂
The Yellowstone is a great layout except for your garage is your bedroom! ..no separate garage as such - Hymer quality these days isn't great tbh..no modern vans are 🙄 you will get your van fixed and it will soon be a distant memory - don't over react ❤
Not a fan of van conversions, too many compromises, I know a coachbuilt has some , but for me not enough to change , like the space , good luck in what you do , just remember it can be a case of better the devil you know
Keep what you have got jof ❤👍🍺

Definitely right the prices have escalated dramatically, we have had a really good run so it’s not been bad🙈🏨🚍💯

Absolutely understand 💯👆
I have aMan TGE180, I would never have another fiat, the Man is one of the best I have ever driven.
My advice, get a MAN TGE 180.
Can’t go wrong.

I’m telling you a van conversion will drive you mad
Yes definitely not feeling it 😑 the 690g seriously takes some beating, get this Fiat part sorted and we will be happy again…🚍💯👆

Our thoughts entirely David, and our current Motorhome just simply ticks ✅ all the boxes.💯🚍👌
Think you would regret going to a van conversion especially with the trips you do.
Fix It Again Tomorrow 🦧
Don’t buy anything British !🦧
