Good review, I have one season on my PB 2620 after using a Ryobi for years. Going into the purchase I was hoping for a 30% reduction in time required to do the property vs the tired Ryobi, but the Echo does it in half the time. I was very happy with that.
It also has great throttle response for mulch or rock beds so I can use small 10-30% blips of the throttle to dig leaves out without disturbing rocks or mulch. In short I had about the same experience as you stated in this video. I can even say I left it with last years gas over the winter(ethanol free 91 w/ Echo Red Armor oil) and it started right up last week and ran like new.
is the base a little loose when you grab into it?
It not so much loose, as kind of squishy. I talked to my buddy about it and he said you can set the cruise on full throttle and hold one hand on the bottom like a handle to help carry it, and it soaks up vibration.
