I had the honor to attend one of her concerts some time before she went to Heaven. She was awesome, brought the house down and gave us what we came for. Great music and a great time. RIP beautiful Lady.
My first celebrity crush. Lesley Goldstein. To a NYC kid that had never even been to New Jersey, this beautiful teen capture my heart. What a career too.
Kenn : thank-you again, so very much ! In Denver, on New years Eve, 1963, this was either #1 or #2 on the Top 40 List of KIMN, 950 AM, in Denver. -----------------RIP., beautiful Lesley Gore--------------------------------MJL, 74 y/o
This classic came out when I was 10 but because of listening to an oldies station as a teen ager, I heard it all the time. Any young girl who dated a young guy in the 60s surely could relate to this. While we adored the boys we went steady with, we wanted the option of seeing other cute guys, so many of us got our message across with this song..💖
The song you don't owe me by Leslie Gore is a awesome and excellent song. I love this song and I added it to my playlist. It is a amazing song and beautiful song.
This first great chart single of 1964 lost the race to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 to the Beatles' "I Want to Hold Your Hand" on Feb. 1, '64 and had to settle for three weeks at #2. (On Chicago Top 40 powerhouse WLS at least it had one week at #1 ahead of the Beatles.) At the time when I got this (very early in the new year), I thought it was the more dynamic and important record (not even realizing that it was written by two of the three creators of Danny & the Juniors' rock 'n' roll classic "At the Hop" from six years earlier). I appreciate the stellar efforts of The Music Enhancement Channel to bring us this record and lovely Lesley Gore sounding as magnificent as they ever have.
LESLEY GORE: A fantastic talent from Tenafly NJ. May she R.I.P. By the way in this song Lesley Gore demands to her boyfriend that he should treat her with respect.
At my high school talent show around 1973, three girls came on stage in long satin dresses and long gloves and lip-synced this song. It knocked my socks off. This song still gives me goosebumps every time. There's something elementally - dare I say it - profoundly expressive - in this song. Leslie Gore - you a Star forever!!!
Wow! Such a stunningly beautiful and great singer she was! She obviously was a Venus child!❤ And with this magnificent song she was wayyy ahead of her time! She actually got to be a feminist and gay rights activist, later on in life! A lady to be cherished forever!!!
I remember the old console players with the big speaker. Sound was so mushy. NOW, though - this mix brings out crispness and back vocals I didn't know existed! Very groovy!
Rest in peace forever little angel, God, with his mercy wil forgive you so that you can be in heaven singing this beautiful song. I am 76 years old, I heard this song for first time when I was 15 and I keep on listening it as it was yesterday, On that time I myself didn't imagine the beauty of your face, but now, that I've seen your angel face I am completely sure that God has already forgiven you and have you in heaven for ever. I will always love you Lesly and every time I listen this song and see your angel face, I say little pray for you.
Once again Kenn : thank-you so very, very much, -----words just are inadequate to say how much your hard work means to all of us who grew up to the music of our lives. ------------------WolfSky9, 71 y/o
That this song was written by 2 dudes-------------amazing ! ------------it was THE song in Denver, on New years Eve, 1963--64. -------------------WolfSky9, 74 y/o
That is a very interesting comment on these enhanced versions as being "contemporized mixes" which is a better description that I could come up with. That is exactly what they are. The audio being kicked up a notch with better stereo imaging without losing the original format! Kenn
You made this song sound 2 years newer than it actually is. Sounds very 1965 with your AWESOME enhancements! Lesley would be so proud that someone appreciated her song so much that they would put such a twist on it! Great, great work!
@@Mark-eu4ds I'm glad you caught what I was saying. And no, I'm not trying to be a smart-butt either! I joined the Lesley Gore fan club here in Denver and she sure made a lot of money from me! I bought all of her 45's, albums (mono) and when I finally bought a stereo I bought all of her Stereo albums. I'm such a nutcase when it comes to glorious "STEREO", there isn't any other way to hear fantastic music. Thanks for the reply and please, stay safe! Later!
So glad I grew up in this Era. 72 and just listened to it again...and again....and again.
I had the honor to attend one of her concerts some time before she went to Heaven. She was awesome, brought the house down and gave us what we came for. Great music and a great time. RIP beautiful Lady.
lucky to have met her an absolute timeless classic
Making Me weep. s'OK though.
My first celebrity crush. Lesley Goldstein. To a NYC kid that had never even been to New Jersey, this beautiful teen capture my heart. What a career too.
Ahead of her time! This song is timeless! Loved it then, love it now.
An absolute timeless classic still love it here in july 2022
She was an "ice breaker" in Our time! Prolly others B/4 Her(dunno).
And written by two men.
Awesome version !! This beautiful girl was what the 1960's was all about !!
They don't make them like this anymore. Where have they all gone?
71 years. I think I may wear this one out! ,♡

Women's Lib just wouldn't be the same without you.
sure hope you don't look as dumb as your statement.
Lesley's recordings always had that big "wall of sound" feeling. I love this!
Yes, and one simply does not turn down "The Wall of Sound"!
The wall of sound Those were the times with real music and real singers
Absolutely ♥️ LG.! 😍
It was produced by Quincy Jones!!! He produced most of her records….
Kenn, this is magnificent . What a tribute to Lesley. ----------Late '63, early 64, this song was an Anthem. ------------WolfSky9, 71 y/o

What a remarkable voice! Great song and her other great songs 🎵!
Didn't think this song could ever sound any greater but you did it.

She was/is so gorgeous and talented! A little before my time, however, her records were around.

I like how you add the duets. Wish you had enhanced the back-up harmonies coming in & during the modulating. Still, the stuff you do is phenomenal !
좋은음악 감사합니다~
