The golden age of CMT & TNN . The women of country just rocked . Trisha , Martina McBride , Pam Tillis , Suzy Bogguss , Lori Morgan , Mary Chapin Carpenter , Patty Loveless . I miss the '90's era in country music and the videos were a blast to watch .
@@rickpetroske891 I loved the 50's country with Hank and Patsy, but the 90's took it to another level. George Strait, Alan Jackson, Garth, Patty Loveless. It was a great time to be alive. Today's country music has lost the magic. Sounds like pop music that says "pickup truck" in the lyrics.
What a great song!! I am a rock drummer but I love 90's country (right about the time the term "new country" came about). And Trisha had so many great songs....but this one is probably my favorite
The golden age of CMT and TNN . The women in this era Trisha Yearwood , Suzy Bogguss , Martina McBride , Pam Tillis , Patty Loveless , Lorrie Morgan , Faith Hill were outstanding talent . I remember it was called new country . I call it pure class .
I love this song so badly! It reminds of my grandma, we used to stay all morning in front of the TV watching CMT and this was her favourite video at that time, I had no idea what the song was about, I didn't understand a word of English back there... she passed away the next year and I moved to England to learn English...16 years later I'm a translator and wish my grandma was here so I could translate this song to her...
She is great, really great. She is Linda Ronstadt revisited: that same kind of smooth, pretty, powerful, super-controlled voice that she can use through her whole range with power or delicacy, without ever straining. That's mighty hard to do.
This was considered "new" country when it came out...and listen to how wonderful it sounds now compared to the crap that called "real" country now. This sound is pure pop country genius.
I saw this video on CMT today. I had forgotten how good music videos were then. Also, the people who styled Trisha (including the makeup, playing up Trisha's beauty) were phenomenal. I do love a lot of the new music, but this stuff--including the videos--is what made me fall in love with country music.
Got that right, I'm struggling to find a good country song today. Wow, to think, this was almost 25 years ago...(when I posted this) Around this time there were many good modern country songs.
There were the same amount of shitty songs then as now, but time has passed them on, only leaving the good songs we like. In 20 years, the same thing will happen again.
I first heard her sing this at Warwick Musical theater in Rhode island... Her backup singers were Mary Chapin Carpenter and Kim Richey who both did their own sets with the other 2 backup vocals....WHAT A SHOW. .I WILL NEVER FORGET ...IT WAS AMAZING..
I haven't wanted to meet too many celebrities in my life.. I apologize, I haven't wanted to meet too many legendary artists or musicians in my life, but Trisha Yearwood is someone I would love to meet and just to thank her for the music she's brought to my life. It's meant everything. xo
Trisha's vocal sounds like Linda Ronstadt on this 1. ACC's #21 song of '96. God bless ya, 'Miss Yearwood.' Thanx, obyee, for postin' it. Have a blessed weekend.
Sensational beautiful song and great vocals. I love the video, Trisha songs are all very memorable. Her fantastic voice sounds so clean and clear. Her songs are g rated and they all deliver a positive good message
One of my favorite songs of all time...sad thought...all those good looking kids in that video are now in their 40's :) I know because I was 20 when this came out...hehehe
I just had a look to see where you were from but I don't know if the song I'm about to suggest was a hit over there and so whether it's the song you were thinking of, but to me it sounds a bit like Always The Last To Know by Del Amitri.
This video debuted on the "CMT Delivery Room" the day of my 27th birthday... AND the ONLY one of her songs I can tolerate! (I feel the same way about her husband, too .)
Kim Richey wrote this song, and there is a great acoustic version of Kim performing it with Radney Foster on You Tube. If you love this song, do yourself a favor and check out the songwriter's performance. Enjoy!
I wish we could go back to the 90's!

No doubt!!

Yes, this is hard rocking country! Nothing like the derided dreck that is played on the radio today.
The golden age of country music. This is a perfect example of how good that decade was for country music
I totally miss the 90s because of music like this!!
just not the same. it's like country hip hop and I like real country music. I'm old school.
+jess99ification when it was music

She is a massive talent, just a perfect female country singer. Up there with the all-time greats imo
That's the prettiest voice in country music! Love Trisha!
Anthony Hawk ONE of the prettiest

I'm a big country music fan but only to 80's & 90's. Today's country doesn't sound like country
ACC's #21 song of the '96 survey year. 'Miss Yearwood' hit #1 in Billboard, 10-12-96. Thanx, friend, for postin' it. Have a blessed rest of the week!
One of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. And her voice is so powerful and harmonious. I love her so much.
This is one of my fav songs by her. Love It! Thanks for posting!!!
The composition of this entire song is genius.
I haven't wanted to meet too many celebrities in my life.. I apologize, I haven't wanted to meet too many legendary artists or musicians in my life, but Trisha Yearwood is someone I would love to meet and just to thank her for the music she's brought to my life. It's meant everything. xo
One of the greatest voices in country music history!❤
Favourite Trisha Yearwood video of all time. Thanks for posting.
This song makes me happy every time I hear it!
Love it, never grows old, top song still to this day! I just love beautiful Trisha, such talent & gifted!
One of my all time favorites, and probably the coolest video Trisha ever did! It's so 90's, and I absolutely love it!
1996 was a great year for country music
If there ever was a time
That I could use your trust in me
And if there ever was a reason
For me to get down on my knees
And if there's any way (if there's any way)
That you could love me anyhow
If you ever had much faith in me
I could use a little now
When I said it would suit me fine
If you were out of sight and out of mind
That wasn't me talking
That was my wounded pride
When I said I didn't want your love
And you were no one I was thinking of
Believe me baby I lied
Well I got no good excuses
But I got plenty of regrets
And I wish this was some bad dream
I could wake up and forget
'Cause you're the only one (you're the only one)
That I could never stand to lose
You're all I've ever wanted
And baby that's the truth
When I said it would suit me fine
If you were out of sight and out of mind
That wasn't me talking
That was my wounded pride
When I said I didn't want your love
And you were no one I was thinking of
Believe me baby I lied
(Oh, oh,)
Hey!
When I said it would suit me fine
If you were out of sight and out of mind
That wasn't me talking
That was my wounded pride
When I said I didn't want your love
And you were no one I was thinking of
Believe me baby I lied
Believe me baby I lied

Reminds me of that time I was in San Antonio for an Army school in 1996. Fun times.
Trisha Yearwood is so talented. That voice is like butter.
ONLY 60,000 VIEWS UNREAL........SMH LOVE THIS SONG
Lyrics compliment of Kim Richey. A wonderful singer/songwriter herself.
Trisha's vocal sounds like Linda Ronstadt on this 1. ACC's #21 song of '96. God bless ya, 'Miss Yearwood.' Thanx, obyee, for postin' it. Have a blessed weekend.

This video debuted on the "CMT Delivery Room" the day of my 27th birthday... AND the ONLY one of her songs I can tolerate! (I feel the same way about her husband, too .)

You can really hear the Linda Ronstadt influence in Trisha's voice on this song.
All you have to do is close your eyes.
Wow. You aren’t kidding - truly amazing. Both women are exceptionally gifted vocalists. Love them!
They do sound remarkably similar, but Linda never had a song this good.
Remember when country was good?
