    Thank you so much for creating this tutorial. As a student, it has been very difficult to find Sketchup videos from a set design perspective. Hope to see more tutorial videos of this kind!

    Awesome walkthrough of your process. As an avid user of SketchUp in my day to day as an architect, it’s nice to hear that it’s used commonly in set design as well.

    This is so cool. I started an interior design certificate, and learned Sketchup. i really love it - its so great to see there is a world outside of residential and commercial interior design where there is room for even more creativity!

    Really good tutorial. Would love to see a video on how you model and create construction documents. Thank you in advance

    Great video! I usually use C4D so it's so interesting to see how designing in Sketch Up works. Would love to see more of your process!

    Please make more of these! I don't find enough set design in film videos using SketchUp, thanks for your video.

      Glad you've enjoyed it! I'll be making more when I get a chance! I actually use Sketchup for modelling/blocking out a design and making visuals. I do the actual draughting in Vectorworks.

    Another great one. I never learned Materials-assigning materials etc. And "Skatter" I will be getting. Thank you. (love the cat).

    Great to see your process Greg! Beautiful result too and I spotted a secret sauce at the end of the video as well, a little helper friend assisting with the making of magic :)

    Very nice. I'd love to see your process for creating construction drawings. I find Layout to be a very flawed program. Interested to see how you go about this.

      I also find Layout flawed to be fair. I use Vectorworks to do my actual drawings after the model phase. I'd like to do a follow-up on it soon if I get the time.

      @@SetDesignChannel Thanks so much! Just a quick question - I've got Vectorworks, but don't really have experience with drafting and would love to be able to easily visualise my designs (i think better in 3D than sketching)... would you recommend I start with Sketch Up?

    hank u for the video! Got a question, is there any other program to use for set designer in wich u have layout or u can make plans ?

    • @SetDesignChannel
      @SetDesignChannel  8 місяців тому

      Layout is Sketchup-specific and I will be making a video on that in future. However, if you're interested in other software, why not check out some of my Vectorworks videos?

      If you want some guidance on how to get into the field, take a look at this video:
      ua-cam.com/video/bW7tl6LfP2I/v-deo.html
      A masters degree isn't really that common, but specific film-set draughting courses are quite popular.
