Thanks for documenting this one Paul. Not many video's on this one which is a shame as it's a great Munro. It was also great to see what this Munro looked like without its winter coat on. Brought back some good memories seeing that wee ridge walk too.
    Best Regards,
    Douglas.

      Thanks Douglas,
Very different day to the one you had. I think its a hill that I will do again in the winter. Our alternative route back was also interesting and would make a good winter walk on its own.
Thanks for the comments and for watching!
Hope to see you back out again soon.
      Paul.

Thanks Iain. Really appreciate the feedback. Started this off as a way to share my walks with the family. I will attempt to have a go of what gear I have / use and the alternatives I have depending on the weather/time of year.
      Cheers again!
      Paul.

    Hello,
I Loved this video. I know this is a bit out there, but thought with your experience you might know the best answer to this.
I am a U.K. 10 and I purchased a pair of Scarpa SL actives in a 45 euro. Now it works out that it is a 10.25 U.K. size. I feel it is Slightly too big and there is some Heel lift. My question is.
What do you think is my best option to solve this issue?
Should I buy a Volume Reducer, to fit under the insoles?
Should I take out the insoles and replace them with something like Superfeet, and if so would that help tighten up at the heel?
I love them, but I just need them to be a little better fit.
    Thanks,
    Jason 😃

      Hi Jason,
      Thanks for watching.👌.
To be honest, it would be wrong of me to try and give you advice as I honestly don't know! I don't have a reducer or extra insoles in my boots and haven't ever bought these. I do however know what you mean with the heel lift. After wearing my boots for a few months I suddenly had a really bad experience and took all the skin off one of my heels whereas before I had no problems. At this point I invested in some thick darn tough socks and started tying two surgeons knots, one in the middle and one at the top. This has worked for me and the problem was resolved. Unfortunately that's all I have.😔. My only other advice would be to visit somewhere like TISO and speak to them? . Sorry I couldn't help but I wouldn't want to give you the wrong steer. I also watched a few videos on tying boots for heel lift on UA-cam? Maybe that would help?.
Let me know how you go and take care...All the best. Paul

Thanks for posting. I came across this as I’m looking at buying a pair of Scarpa SL Active. Salomons keep letting water in! Did they fit true to size? Cheers

      Hi Jack,
I bought mine from TISO and had a fitting time make sure they suited me. I am a size 8 and the boot size 8 was fine. I wear a pear of darn tough socks with mine and only had some minor heel rub once (I think I rushed tying them and suffered for not taking my time) the boots themselves are on the heavier side however I have found them to be extremely good. They are fantastic as far as waterproofing goes and haven't let me down. I wear a pair of gaters most of the time which helps. I also have cleaned and reproofed them twice in just over a year which you will need to do. All in all they are comfy, warm and have kept me dry in the boggiest of walks. A bit expensive at 260 pounds but hey ho. If I had to buy them again I wouldn't hesitate. Hope this helps. Paul

I bought my Scarpa SL 14yrs ago. Still going strong even though they've been resoled once.

Brilliant Gordon! Do you wear yours all year round? I am thinking about buying something different for summer walking. Paul
