“Photograph” is my favorite track from “Pyromania”. I will never get tired of it. It is timeless. I remember being in the 8th grade when the song and album were released and saving my lunch money all week to buy the record.
Pyromania is the one album that represents my childhood, back in the 80s. Especially the artwork on the album cover. It reminds me of all the great times i had as a child growing up in the 80s. It had a HUGE impact on me. I remember taking the "tape" to the local neighborhood park and just listening to the whole "tape", all by myself. I loved growing up in the 80s! Great times, with great music!
Pyromania is the album that got me into Def Leppard back in 1983. But then I went out and bought High N Dry and realized I liked that album even better!
Pyromania was a landmark album in that era. It was so different from everything else yet impressive at the same time. Still one of my favourite DL albums.
Pyromania was a huge influence on me. I was 18 and had been playing guitar for about two years and hearing how Phil and Steve played these unique guitar parts inspired me. I wore out that cassette and continue to listen to it over and over. It’s timeless.
January 1989. We were still living the HYSTERIA fever in Lima Perú 🇵🇪 when a friend from my local record store told me : “ Have you ever listen PYROMANIA? It’s better than Hysteria “ I said him NAHHH REALLY ? Then he gave me that jewel, played it and I said WOW ! I ADORE BOTH ! Changed my teen years for good🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
My story is very much like yours. I wore out the tapes in my Sony Walkman. But I lived in Ecuador. Hysteria, then Pyromania, then Adrenalize, Retroactive, Slang, Euphoria, etc. I’m a big fan and love all their albums.
Can’t wait for the results for the cover contest, me and my sisters entered, we’re very excited! They where amazing when we saw them in July at Wrigley field
This band would not exist without Mutt Lange. I saw the tour for this album 40 years ago and I remember thinking they sounded so good they must be lip syncing.

Hard to pick a favorite. What I will say is that to this day it's the quintessential guitar tone for me. Every song on that album is great!
@@ejstar8917such a ageless song is Photograph
Comin' Under Fire or Stagefright
No Def Leppard without Steve Clark. Pete Willis rhythm tracks are on Pyromania.

One my all-time favorite bands and albums! Cheers to 40 years of burning it down! 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Thanks for the opportunity to participate in the cover contest, and congratulations on the 40th anniversary!
This is one of the greatest hard rock albums of all time. It’s perfect from beginning to end 🤘🏻🔥🎸

This album and Van Halen’s 1984 changed the shape of rock forever, and for the good.
No filler, all hits but ROCK OF AGES and ACTION ! NO WORDS still rush tons of adrenaline trough my veins!😎🤘🏼
Awesome vid. Thanks. Love listening to everyone’s different takes.
One of the best albums from one of the best groups ever. And from some sweet and kind bunch of men
It is better imo. Best one. Clark/Willis were a great tandem
Have seen them at least 10 times. First time at age 18 last time a few months ago at age 59
Every show was amazing

Everyone had that cassette when it came out!🤘😎🤘
I always liked Photograph. It got a lot of airplay in the LA area when the album came out.
Imagine that. Seven and a half minutes of talk and no one mentions Steve Clark.
Pyromania is Def Leppard’s best album.
Great album great band❤
I was 10 when that record came out. It wore the grooves off of that record.
Pyromania is my all time top 10 hard rock/heavy metal album.
Absolutely brilliant album of rock music at its finest. Favourite track is very hard to choose but probably 'Too late for love' for me.
The best band ever, so many other bands copied the things they’d done
❤ Thanks Guys
It would be fantastic if they could remaster this album and take off most of the compression.
music wouldn't be the same without def leopard
It was always weird to see Rick Allen win "Best Drummer" polls back then. Most people had never heard him play, really!
Nice interviews.

Happy anniversary pyromania
Would love to know who won the cover contest!?
So... who won the song contest??
I got the 40th aniversary box set 👋🎸🥁🎤
Steve Stevenson with Billy idol brought so many influences into rebel yell as well….tp very different bands very intresting writing
Hated the drum machine sound but loved the guitars and vocals
Woot!
A bit late. It was released in early 1983.

This band would not exist without Mutt Lange. I saw the tour for this album 40 years ago and I remember thinking they sounded so good they must be lip syncing.
And quite a few other bands
Vivian is a splendid guitarplayer. Why doesn`t he play solos???????
Couldn't take this band seriously after phil went off to write the Tarzan soundtrack.
Phil looks like the actor Tobin Bell from the Saw's movies.I love the band!!!
"Are ya gonna land in sharks or are ya gonna land in champagne?" Joe Elliott
It was like melodic metal. It was DIFFERENT. DL is not a metal band.
I would rate Pyromania a 9/10 for a hard rock album. Deducted 1 point for the horrible snare sound.
