I just use 5/8 all-thread with washer welded to nuts then backing nuts to lock in place. Doesn't take long to dial in each one with a spacer. Run bar underneath for centering and the lay out pickets. drop spacing jig on top. tac one end the slide over to other end and tac.

_anything (smaller) similar to this (if larger, can be carried by trucks), but less horizontal bars as possible, any old metal grate should work ,if it's hard to climb from the other side.. the two base corners need a couple of wheels, and your side of the "siege fence" will have a platform (made from anything, not necessarily metal).. that is fused or welded to the main vertical frame .. that will be leaning towards the "horde" side towards the siege so the Orks can't climb over them and escape over.. at a more than 90° angle.. 100 degrees at most, angle of range on your "besieger" wide side of the mobile fences where the pilgrims will be keeping the horde from escaping the encirclement_
This wide 100° angle will allow people to sit on them, and travel to the siege, while dragged by any cars or towed along.. just like a mounted chariot.. with cars instead of horses.. and a basic platformed palisade that leans forward just enough that leaning back or forward on it, allows for at least 1-2 (3-5 at best), pilgrims to sit on it, using the platform for feet, and the angled palisade to rest or lean against..
There isn't enough wood to construct enough mobile siege Palisades, and wood could burn and ruin your entire fortifications in minutes, as they break through the siege and escape into your lines.. wood is best used as mobile fences to surround the campfire with, to keep the warmth inside, and covering the camp with blankets or any cover, to keep the "siege camps" from losing bodily heat at night..
Use all the wood for that (fencing the small camps or campfires of each group) , donate these fences or at least the basic tools for them if you don't have enough to make them, to the Barbarian Fleet so they can give it to Algeria, Libya, Kameroon, where pilgrims can ride them to the front line, and help more of them travel in teams more than a normal car or truck allows to carry inside..
these mini-war chariots that will serve as siege Palisades, will be your best modern fortifications.. while the Pilgrim liberated settlements near the surrounded Orks will need basic light fortifications, these mounted fortifications will allow Pilgrims to hold a permanent siege against the zombies who sent us the corona to murder us with their plague
And push them to the center..
When using these, it is easier to hold a front line against them, even if it's a few dozen yards or hundred yards wide.. you can block the horde from advancing (heavy objects or anything even cars, can be pushed into the wider side of the palisade, to keep them from being pushed back, or rolling backwards on their wheels..)
That way the horde will never push through, if you pile something heavy like rocks or stones in your side.. to use as light 'pelting' them with 'slingshot like' barrage that disables and injures them if they get too close to the Palisades.. you can stay on top of the cars that hold them in one line (or tie the individual ones together into a fence, to keep them from being broken through) and see how many orks are approaching, then pelting them with rocks and Molotovs from close range, and other siege weapons at larger ranges, if there is a bigger wave approaching to break the siege..
Even sitting on the platform, to push it down and ahead to keep Orks from breaking through.. will be enough to allow the siege weapons and light 'pelting' and heavy slingshots (if any), and fire bombs to finish off the wave.. or hold it until more ammo is supplied, and switch with more pilgrims to lean against the Palisades when they tired, and have to rest from pushing back against the horde

Awesome job sir. Would it be faster and more efficient to drill holes through the rails even though drilling holes would make them round holes. Im asking because i need tonmake a fence and indont know which is best method.

Every time we make these with 16 gauge materials, the panels arch. How do you keep it from arching?

What size square tube do you use for your rails and pickets?
I have to make a gate for a customer, coming up soon and just looking for some guidance on material selection.
