Hello magicarpetmoto, at 3:01 you can see the circuit diagram for connecting the piezo crystal. It shows that the piezo crystal is controlled by piezo driver IC U3 (MAS6240C) based on a charge pump technology. The outputs of this driver are marked on the board as Z1 and Z2. Best regards, Alex
Do you think it's possible to change the battery in this particular version of a Tile? I'm wondering if soldering onto the new battery will destroy or shorten its life
I don't think it will shorten it's battery life when you replace the battery. I mean as long as you get the right battery should be completely fine. Pretty sure it's just a clip-on mechanism like you just clip it off like take a little piece of plastic slide around the edges. Then once you get inside the device then you just have to desolder the connection to the battery. And yeah you can replace the battery with a normal I don't. I don't even know what the heck. And yeah it's I'll tell you one thing to make the speaker work. You going to have to align the board back up properly? Otherwise it shouldn't affect anything else with the tile
Great video, was wondering what pins to solder the piezo crystal to if I want to use this without the case?
