  • SAU's Violin Celebration X, featuring 400 Suzuki Violinists at Abravanel Hall (10/9/21). This culturally rich music takes us to Mexico. Happy Cinco de Mayo!
    Composer: Q. Mendoza Cortes, 1900s
With his father’s help, Cortés learned to play five instruments-piano, flute, violin, guitar, and organ. His most famous piece is this beautiful love song! It is so popular that Mexican soccer fans often sing it to their team at the World Cup. It was written in Mariachi Style, a signature Mexican sound that usually includes violin, guitar, trumpet, and voice.
This cultural celebration was sponsored by the Suzuki Association of Utah (SAU) and supported many volunteers. Participants include Suzuki violin students and teachers from Ogden to Provo (and beyond). Thanks to all the teachers, students, parents, and professionals who helped create this beautiful rendition of "Cielito Lindo."
