I love watching a genius at work. Only things missing were Ash and Boo, but aluminum shavings aren't good for kitties, so they needed to be elsewhere. I'll just have to revisit Ash purring for a minute or six, then Boo conquering a cardboard box.
Boo is still fighting a vicious battle with that cardboard box. 😁
Oh my word, I can only imagine how long it took to hand saw/file that chunk out of the aluminum! Better you than me, and kudos:-D
About an hour from beginning to end. 😉

Your persistence is amazing! But fingers all around those power tools make me NERVOUS!!!
Understandably so! They can be dangerous! You must be constantly aware of where your fingers are and what the tool is doing, to avoid injury. 😊
You need heat in your workshop. Also, it fascinates me to watch a genius working.
The workshop proper is in the house, where there's heat.
But the backyard shed doesn't have that luxury! And that's where the 'dirty' powertools live. 😉

@@elissahunt I had one with me, in fact! But it can only do so much in an uninsulated shed when it's 25°F out there.
