We are currently full time RV’ing…these will be so cute to hang out on the awning, or the gazebo. The weight is always a factor, so this will really work. THANK YOU 🥰
I made several of these yesterday. They are so cute! Jennifer, your videos inspired me to get my own Cricut, and use it. I really appreciate your clear instructions and your wonderfully filmed videos. Thank you!!
These are so cute. I am excited for the finished product. I am having trouble with cutting the vellum, though. Midway through the cutting, something is catching and then the vellum is getting torn and stuck in the blade.
Here are a few tips that might help you resolve the issue: Clean Your Blade: Make sure your blade is clean. You can poke the blade into a ball of aluminum foil several times to knock off any fibers, glitter, or adhesive. Alternatively, use rubbing alcohol and a lint-free cloth to clean it. A clean blade ensures smoother cuts. Check Your Mat: Ensure you're using a green standard grip mat, which is ideal for intricate cuts. Make sure the mat is clean and sticky enough to hold the vellum in place without shifting. Blade and Pressure Settings: Double-check that you're using the correct blade and pressure settings for vellum. Sometimes, increasing the pressure slightly can help, but be cautious not to overdo it as vellum is delicate. Test Cuts: Perform a few test cuts to fine-tune your settings. This can help you find the perfect combination of blade depth and pressure. Mat Loading and Unloading: Before unloading your mat, check if the cut went all the way through by gently lifting a corner of the material. If it didn't, press the go button for another pass. This ensures the cuts are made in the exact same spots. Weeding Tools: If the vellum is getting stuck, use a weeding tool to gently pull it away from the blade and mat. jennifermaker.com/cricut-cutting-problems-tips-cleaner-cuts/
@@JenniferMaker Thanks for the response and tips. I used a fresh blade but did clean it after the first failed attempt with vellum. I used the blue mat, and perhaps that was my problem. I will try again with a fresh green mat and see how it goes.
You could add tabs to the sides of each lantern long sides (similar to the top and bottom tabs) that you fold in and glue to each other to close the gaps. jennifermaker.com/how-to-make-a-lantern-from-paper/
You could try to size it down or use the larger than mat guide. jennifermaker.com/cardstock-cut-outs-larger-than-mat/ jennifermaker.com/how-to-make-a-lantern-from-paper/
Awesome & informative video. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. I'm new to Cricut Access & I found your profile & followed to check out your designs. My question is if I was to make a project with your Access Tree Silhouettes do I need to add something to your design or can I use it as is for my personal project. I'm still learning so I'm having second thoughts using images without any legal issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I love this project & just finished 4 of them. However, I wish there was a way to connect the panels so there wasn’t so much of a gap between them.
You could add tabs to the sides of each lantern long sides (similar to the top and bottom tabs) that you fold in and glue to each other to close the gaps. jennifermaker.com/how-to-make-a-lantern-from-paper/
Love this idea... you mean it will stand up in rain (and early snowfall)?
No, these are made with card stock. jennifermaker.com/how-to-make-a-lantern-from-paper/
Cardstock will not hold up in the rain and snow. You can put these out for a bit as I did, but not all season.
Could I use 65 lb card stock for these? Thanks!
While you could make this with 65 lb card stock 80 lb will be much more sturdy and hold up better. jennifermaker.com/how-to-make-a-lantern-from-paper/
is the epson 2850 good for sublimation? i see you use a 2800.
Yes! All the EcoTank printers are great, the 2800 and 2850 don't come with the extra bells and whistles but they work great for sublimation. 😊🌻
What can you use instead of vellum 😁 if you don’t have vellum
You can use copy paper or tissue paper as well. 😊🌻
@@JenniferMaker ok thanks I seen parchment paper does that work too ? When I looked it up online
I love these lanterns but do they come in the cut size for the joy
Sorry just read the instuctions and realized tbey are for the joy extra and above. Will these be able to be changed to joy
